Ladies and gentlemen, good morning! It is my honor to share my thoughts on attaining world peace. First, we must find peace within ourselves through self-reflection on our attitudes, morals, and ethics and how we treat others. Second, nations must work together in unity through open communication and cooperation to solve problems instead of war. Lastly, we must overcome greed and the love of power, and instead treat all people with genuine love, understanding, and equality. If we can attain world peace, it will reduce poverty, crime, and spare future generations from the horrors of war. The path is long but we must never give up on this most important goal.

Ethics of Making and Sustaining Peace: “World Peace is All We Need”
By LAMC
Ladies and Gentlemen, Good morning! It is my honor to stand right in front of
you and share my thoughts regarding this topic and before I start, I would like to ask a question, what do you think is one of the most sought things in this world? --- It is World Peace; a lot of people hopes that we could obtain this, but it is just so difficult and could never be easy. Chaos is inevitable in this world. Since time immemorial, it has already been part of the lives of people wherein a lot of wars broke out in different countries and even until now, we are still yearning for world peace. We were done with World War I and II, but there are still ongoing wars between countries such as the North and South Korea, a civil war in Syria, a drug war in our own country and a lot more. So, how do we attain peace? First, begin with your own self. Assess your attitude, morals, and ethics especially on how you treat other people. Change for the better if you need to, yet, change does not happen overnight, it is a long process. So, as they say, better start now before it gets too late. Also, if you are at peace with your own self or to people around you, you have got nothing to worry about and aside from that, rules are given for a reason, so you better obey them. Second, peace is not attainable by working alone, it is only obtained through unity. Therefore, nations should work hand in hand in order for us to achieve this. We should learn to have an open communication with other countries and if ever there would be a problem, talk about it before engaging in a war. Let us help one another and not let our differences be a hindrance, instead accept and work on it for a greater purpose. Also, influence other people to be a better individual or citizen of this world. Lastly, love one another and do not be greedy. Jimi Hendrix once said, “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” Let us treat one another equally and let love rule in our hearts instead of greediness especially for power. We should also be open-minded, let us learn to accept and understand the opinions, insights, beliefs, and traditions of others. Love can be destructive if not used well such as the love for power and money while the right kind of love is a genuine one wherein happiness is its product. So, let us not be confused with the kind of love we are and will be showing. If world peace is attained, we won’t be able to hear news regarding a large number of dead people in different countries because of wars. Gunshots, loud cries, and people asking for help won’t also be heard. We can also reduce poverty and the number of crimes with this and if wars still continue, it will not just affect us but also the future generations. So, if you want peace to rule over the world, let us help each other. It will take us long to attain that, but we should never give up. Thank you and may peace be with you.
