ACTIVITY 5
NAME: CUABO, AIVA MAY T.
CODE: GE 5 (4939)

Answer the following questions and situations given.

1. You are a student of a certain university, your professor does not like the
idea of using gadgets eg. cellphones, computer and other electronic
devices. How will you convince your professor to appreciate “new
technologies” as an expanded role of language and information? Support
your answer.

As a student, I can really say that there are several advantages to incorporating
technology into the classroom. Given though conservative college professors
oppose the use of gadgets in the classroom, I will still convince my professor by
showing him/her the benefits of us students in innovative ways and so should be
allowed. It will allow us to explore the world beyond the classroom. Students
should learn to self-regulate, and we can and do use cellphones in our classes in
beneficial ways.

For Instance, the usage of Google in the classroom can promote learning by
making it simple for us to search up information online and rapidly contribute
when you have given class discussions. Additionally, it also increases our self-
confidence during a class group study when we gather to investigate how to
complete our assigned paper. It's worth remembering how these electronic
gadgets assist us learners in adapting to and learning from new technologies.
We may quickly determine our learning requirements by searching for material
on a website with a single click.
2. As a student, which do you prefer as a mode of teaching and learning for
the student, via traditional face to face learning or the trend nowadays “on
line class of teaching and learning? Defend your answer.
Amidst pandemic, it's so hard for us to adjust when it comes to teach and
learn as well. That is why the trend is online classes. But, it never beats face to face
learning. I still do prefer the traditional way. Online classes lead students to anxiety
and depression because of the unstable internet and difficulties to sustain gadgets to
attend classes. It might be hard for students to concentrate due to slow connection
and also the distractions given by the surroundings at home. On the other hand, face
to face learning is still the best technique for students to learn well. But, I do
understand that our situation now isn't fit for this. I still hope that it will end soon so
that everything will be back to normal and the teachers and students will interact
once again for a conducive learning.

3. Sharing of information, ideas and other personal data are already trending
nowadays using the social media in which the case of cyber bullying,
pornography and fake accounts which propagate inaccurate and unreliable
reports and based on reports its increasing in numbers. How can you solve
those problems and why?

Getting and acquiring knowledge and information in this generation is indeed

efficient and easy to acquire due to the internet superhighway, but there are a lot
of unreliable and fake information scattered around every social media platform
nowadays that can result to unpleasant results, but knowing and making sure
that the source of information is also a good way to prevent this happening by
checking and making sure that the author of the article or the creator of the site
of both reliable and a fact. For me, we should wear that RESPECT AND
DISCIPLINE. We should be responsible enough, and act matured to avoid this
cases. We should know how to differentiate right from wrongs, and we should act
as human. There's nothing problem like this if we know how to use social media,
how to respect and how to live a healthy life without harming others.
