3.2 Working Principle

The name of AHFQ double-flap butterfly valve comes from the wing-shape
butterfly plate. The round plate rotates around the shaft in the cylindrical channel of
valve body. The valve door can be opened and closed throgh 80° rotation. It is used for
shutting off, opening and regulating the medium in the piping. It has the features of
good flow-control and seal performance.

4 Installation and commissioning

4.1 Installation

4.1.1 The connections of the piping must be properly sealed, leakage of

products is not allowed.
4.1.2 No air leackage can occur in the air piping.
4.1.3 Installation dimension see Fig. 3.

4.2 Commissioning

4.2.1 Idle the valve plate firstly, the valve plate should rotate freely.
4.2.2 Regulate the bidirectional throttle valve or soundproof exhaust valve to
rotate the valve plate 80° around shaft through pneumatic actuator.
4.2.3 Regulate the bidirectional throttle valve to rotate the valve plate 80° to and
fro to shut off and open the cylindrical piping, make the plate stay in the
setted position.

5 Maintenance

5.1 Check the seal condition of air piping, the fastness of connections of
solenoid valve and pneumatic actuator periodically. Change the rubber
seal ring in time, when products leaks from the butterfly valve.
5.2 Necessary measures must be taken against rain and corrosion, if the
machine is installed and used outdoors.
5.3 Wear parts of butterfly valve includes rubber seal ring and pneumatic unit.
5.4 First melt 2# Lithium based grease then put wool felt in. The wool felt is
used as seal after cooling. First install the shaft then the stuffing box and
packing when carrying out installation. Stuffing box should be fully filled
with packing which should be changed in time. (See Fig. 4)

6 End locking cylinder

6.1 Technical condition

1. Working Medium: dry, clean air filtered from filter cartridge above 40 μm
2. Pressure range: 1.5~9kgf/cm2
3. Temperature arrange: -5 ~70
4. Speed range: 30~300 m/s

6.2 Installation and use

1. Select the cylinder with sufficient output force according to the requirement of
working load.
2. When connecting the cylinder to the piping, the corresponding fittings must
be connected. The impurity in the fittings must be cleared in order to avoid
impurity entering into the cylinder and damaging the cylinder.
3. The cylinder’s medium must be filtered from filter cartridge above 40 μm.
4. The connections before and after the cylinder should all be connected to air
piping. Solenoid valve should be connected to back cover of the cylinder.
5. Antifreezing measures must be taken under low temperature circumstance in
order to prevent water in the system from freezing.
6. Cylinder must run in idly prior to operating. Before operating the buffer should
be first adjusted to the minimum, then gradually to the maximum, in order to
avoid damaging the cylinder due to the excessive impact
7. The front buffering adjustment must be entirely opened during the period of
operation.
8. Cylinder must be prevented from being suffered eccentric cross force as
possible to ensure the normal operation and lifetime.
9. If the cylinder is out of use for a long time, the surface must be protected and
the air outlet must be protected with dustproof plug.
