1. INTRODUCTION

Sheet metal is simply a metal formed into thin and flat pieces. It is one of the
fundamental forms used in metal working and can be cut and bent into a variety of different
shapes. Countless everyday objects are constructed of the material. Thicknesses can vary
significantly, although extremely thin thicknesses are considered foil or leaf, and pieces thicker
than 6 mm (0.25 inch) are considered plate but maximum 3 mm thicker pieces can be cut.
Sheet metal also has applications in car bodies, airplane wings, medical tables, roofs for
buildings (Architectural) and many other things. Sheet metal of iron and other materials with
high magnetic permeability, also known as laminated steel cores, has applications in
transformers and electric machines. There are three primary procedures in Layout. They are
Parallel, Radial, and Triangulation. The major aim of experiment is to design and development
of multipurpose pneumatic sheet fabrication process like, cutting, bending and punching.

 Story Boarding

 Happy story:

After visit we research about this problem we find the solution. The
pneumatic cylinder arrange in the cutting machine and consist cutting tool,
bending tool & punching tool etc. And make the design. These solutions say
to workers. Hence workers are happy.

 Sad story:

We go to the GIDC area in sheet cutting industries there we meet their

workers and discuss about the operation and working etc. and their one
worker kishorbhai take sheet and go for punching other section and
kishorbhai say this problem and he was sad.

 Happy story:
He gives good compliments of our solution. We are so happy
for manager compliments of our solution.

 Sad story:

He said sometime I can’t achieve my production target because of

material handling for different operations.

7. PROJECT DESIGN
8 BASIC COMPONENTS

1) DOUBLE ACTING CYLINDER:-

The pneumatic cylinder is a
device that has been mechanically engineered to produce force (in linear
motion) from compressed gas. they are also known as air cylinders. the air
cylinders come in various appearances and sizes and are meant to perform
different functions depending on the rising needs of the market

2) SOLENOID VALVE:-
The magnetic field exerts a force
on the plunger. as a result, the plunger is pulled toward the center of the coil
so that the orifice opens. this is the basic principle that is used to open and
close solenoid valves. A solenoid valve is an electromechanical actuated valve
to control the flow of liquids and gases.in this project solenoid valve will to
control air flow and maintain the air pressure. Solenoid valves are the most
frequently used control elements in fluidics.
3) CUTTING BLADE, PUNCHING TOOL, BENDING TOOL

1) CUTTING TOOL 2) BENDING TOOL 3) PUNCHING TOOL

4) CONNECTING ROD:-
Usually connecting rod is used to connect
to two mechanical component to transmit the power or motion. In this
project we used the connecting rod to connect the shear cutter with
piston rod. This connecting rod is removable and have light weight

5) SLIDER:-
In this project the slider is used to move the piston-
cylinder one end to another end. The slider is supported by the four pillar of
cast iron. The slider can be lock and unlock. The Piston cylinder is joined with
this slider, by nut & bolt.

6) AIR COMPRESSOR:-
An air compressor is a device that converts power
(using an electric motor) into potential energy stored in pressurized air.

Voltage 230V
Power 1.5KW
Pressure 8 Bar
Tank capacity 24 liter

10 FUTURE SCOPE:-

1) This multipurpose pneumatic device operated by compressed air, It can be make

the same design of hydraulically operated which can produce more force (in ton).
So, that it can fulfill the limitation of pneumatically operated device.

2) The slider mechanism can be converted into chain slider mechanism or bearing
slider mechanism.
