 PHILOSOPHY is in reality the theory of Education.
In other words, EDUCATION is the Dynamic side of Philosophy.

PHILOSOPHY formulates the method, EDUCATION its process

 EDUCATION Without Philosophy is BLIND

and PHILOSOPHY without education is INVALID

PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION defined as the application of the fundamental principles of a philosophy of

life to the work of education. Offers a definite set of principles and establishes a definite set of aims and
objectives.

What is the relation between education and philosophy?

 Philosophy and Education are closely interrelated.

 Education is application of philosophy or philosophy of education is applied philosophy.

 it is application of philosophy to study of the problems of education that is known as philosophy

of education.

 According to Ross, “Philosophy and Education are like the sides of coin, presenting different views
of the same thing and that one is implied by the other”.

 education is the strongest instrument for the realization of the ideals of life and a civilized attempt
to bring about the desired development of human personality.

 This indicates the fact that plant of education draws its nourishment from the soil of philosophy.

 Philosophy answers all the ultimate questions of education.

 Thus philosophy deals with the end and education with the means. In fact, we can observe that
the great philosophers of all times have been also great educators. For example, Socretes and
Plato, the great philosophers, were also famous educators.
Experts view is given below:

nature of education”
--Gentile
