Introduction
Moto pvt. Limited is a well-known IT company that was founded in 2004 B.S. During its peak, it
was one of the most well-known companies. This company was created to produce software for
clients. This is an award-winning company that offers security features in the realm of
technology. In addition, the WLAN software has additional security features. The main goal of
implementing a wireless WLAN in a SOHO is to better represent the needs of customers, which
are often disregarded or misread. The wireless WLAN was installed to provide user reliability
when using the internet and software products.
WLAN stands for Wireless Local Area Network, and it is a network that uses wireless
technology to reduce costs and data loss. The technique for developing and deploying a wireless
network for a SOHO is described in this paper. The phases of a structured network architecture
and the realistic execution of the procedures were demonstrated using a real-life case study.
Initially, the design is modelled using the Visual paradigm. The study showed how to create a
small network using the five phases, which begin with strategic planning and end with
implementation.

1.1 Assumption
The purpose of starting a new company named "Moto" is to deploy or set up wireless technology
in SOHO. Because it has used fewer hardware components, it may explain the cost in the
company and work in the network clearly while interacting with others. By ensuring that there
are no sticks in the wires wrap, these will help both the office user and the network staff
manager.

1.2 Scope
The project's purpose is to build up a wireless network in a SOHO using all of the necessary
equipment. The goal is to boost bandwidth while keeping enough gain for WLAN applications.
We've placed repeaters to make our networks more robust because routers can't always cover
great distances and deliver excellent signals, and because internet speeds are so low.

1.3 Objectives
 Encrypted and strong access control appear to be enabled.
 Communication that is effective and dependable
 Hardware cost effectiveness
 With the help of a good position, you may lessen the obstruction.
1.4 Limitations
Our lives are becoming more mobile, cheaper, more inexpensive, more comfortable, more well
connected thanks to wireless networks, yet they come with their own set of limitations. These
limitations are engrained in their architecture, capabilities, and whatever other flaws they may
possess. A cabled or wired network is much faster than a wireless network for file sharing. Due
to physical and technological limitations, wireless networks can only transfer data up to a certain
capacity. Wireless device speed decreases when the user goes away from the router or Wi-Fi
source, compared to a cabled connection. The router's signal may be unreceivable in some
regions, even within a structure, as the signal's intensity deteriorates. This may cause data and
file transfers to be halted, or it may result in slower rates when data and files are transferred
away from the router.

2. Site Survey
By carrying an Access point and utilizing a laptop computer with a wireless LAN connection and
monitoring software to identify dead spots and the best locations for Access points, we conduct a
site inspection.

2.1 Business requirements

A SOHO network, also known as a single or small office/home office network, is a business
category with a small number of employees, usually between one and twenty. The small home
office router is essentially a conventional internet router that has been tailored to the needs of
small enterprises. A home office network is typically privately owned or operated by self-
employed individuals for a small business and can accommodate a larger number of users.

2.2 Interview with stake holder

a. What kind of connection do you want to make?
b. Was the coverage provided by its network adequate?
c. What do you think the primary reason for the network's effectiveness is?
d. What is the total number of clients in the network?
e. In terms of speed and efficiency, which subnets are the most effective?
(i) Wi Fi connection (ii) Connection having switch wired

2.3 Security for physical device and security

 Consumption services that are distinct from one other can also be produced.
 Create a connection type that isn't well-known.
 Firewalls have the ability to control access and disconnect VPN connections. If your
present firewalls have excess capacity, you can use it to protect your new WLAN. ∙
Create a strong wireless passcode.
 Manually apply security patches.

2.4 The site-specific document

We plan a comprehensive WLAN network using the most up-to-date software and establish the
number of required Accesspoints and their locations in advance.

S/N Requirements Response

1 The number of people that will be using it and 8 laptops and 1 PC on the floor, 1 PC in the
the sort of equipment that will be used. account section, 1 PC in the sales department, 3 in
the programming department, and 8 laptops and a
file server in the staff area.
2 Email Server none
3 Growth of the project The number of wireless users is expected to
increase in the future.
4 Application We have access to Microsoft Word, numbers,
requirements digital literature, design applications, and graphic
programs.
5 Number Of printers 2
6 Expectations for uptime and reliability The WLAN should be quite trustworthy;
nonetheless, the Digital Centre is responsible for
the uptime of the internet connection.
7 Privacy issues WLANs must be well-protected, with access
restrictions in place. What enters and exits the
internet must be filtered by the network.

2.4 The existing network characteristics

A SOHO network can be as simple as a small wired Ethernet LAN or as complicated as a
network that combines wired and wireless devices. There is a single level with employees
ranging from 10 to 15 in a working office with little physical disturbance. This includes a single
router and single repeater in the distance so that the router repeater date is not lost.

Router characteristics:
 Routers are devices with several ports and more trunk lines.
 Routers control packets such as the destination address, packet primary deliverables,
shortest route width, and route traffic level, as well as the lowest possible route, least
route delay, and shortest route width.

2.5 Repeater characteristics:

The distinctive feature of the Repeater is that it sends whatever it receives to the other LAN
segment. This disregards both the frame format and physical addresses.

2.6 Floor Plan

Figure: Floor Plan
2.7 RF coverage and capacity
a. Coverage area
WIFI routers work at a frequency of 5 GHz and can reach distances of 150 feet
indoors and 300 feet outdoors. To run the 5GHz, a router with 802.11n is used.

b. Users
There are 10-15 users.

c. Rf behavior
The use of electromagnetic radiation to carry data between two circuits that are
not electrically coupled is referred to as "radio frequency." IEEE 802.11, which refers to the
radio frequency bands used by all devices, is another name for it.

2.8 Deployment consideration

The router and repeater are the two devices in the floor plan. For the sake of security, we've also
used the firewall. We have also added the WIFI encrypted technology. Anti-malware software
was also used to detect threats from web sources and directories.
3. Hardware and software requirements
In order to set up a SOHO network, a number of additional requirements must be completed. The
following are a handful of them:
a. Ethernet Adapter
b. File server
c. Router
d. Repeater
e. Firewall
f. Network Interface Card (NIC card)
g. printer

Equipment Description Requirements Quantity

Wireless WLAN Access wireless At least 53Mbps. 5-10

adapter WLAN

Access point Make wireless 53Mbps 10-15

connectivity recommended
available.
4. Security requirements
The estimate is based on a combination of assumptions, actual experience, and consumer
feedback. The "conventional way" involves using client management software included with the
network card, manually collecting signal measurements on a paper map, and compiling a site
survey report. Accounts for individual administrators are created. To set up an access point,
firmware must be loaded, which enables a user interface in standard internet browsers as soon as
the access point's IP address is typed in. WPA2 was chosen to encrypt your WLAN since its
predecessors, WPA and WEP, are old and may pose a security concern. WPA2 has so far only
been found to be vulnerable to password attacks; brute force and dictionary attacks are
particularly popular among cyber criminals. The following are some of the security
requirements:

 Wireless device security configurations

 Changing the default usernames and passwords on your computer.
 MAC filtering is turned on.
 Assignment of a static IP address
 The firewall must be configured.
 A service that allows you to forward or map ports is known as port forwarding/mapping.
 The ports have been disabled.
 Filtering of content as well as parental controls
 Updates to the firmware

5. Monitoring and Maintenance

While deploying the network, the smooth operation of hardware and software is not possible.
Maintaining and monitoring the wire for physical and network devices, as well as traffic control.
Firewalls monitor incoming and outgoing traffic to keep the local network safe.
Preventive maintenance also contributes to the system's security, and the cloud component
analyzes the issue and keeps the data current.
6. Conclusion
The document explains how to create and deploy a structural network for usage in a small office
or at home. To demonstrate the phases of a structured network design, as well as a realistic
implementation of the procedures, a real-life case study was employed. The design was made in
Visio. The only problem was that there was no power at the site, so the gadgets couldn't be set
up. The gadgets, however, cannot be operated due to their low power. To tackle such issues, a
solid relationship was used, and instead of using a computer, a laptop was used to develop and
test the final configuration.
