APPLICATIONS
This 316 Stainless steel is used primarily to provide a corrosion resistant deposition with reasonable hardness
and strength. The material exhibits very high shrinkage and it is normal to restrict thickness to 2mm (0.080
in). It is usual to "build up" with 55E before applying this coating. Typical applications include paper mill
cylinders, impellors, rams, shafts, etc. in corrosive environments.

FINISHING
The coating is usually finished by grinding, but can also be turned to a good finish. Since sprayed metal
coatings are porous, it is essential that deposits be sealed if corrosion protection is required. The
recommended sealer for most environments is Metallisation Sprayseal M.
To comply with Health and Safety Legislation you are recommended to consult the MSDS referring to
this material.
