1. General Information of iSIMS
Integrated Student Information Management System (iSIMS) is a complete package
of software modules that enable learning institutions to manage their data
effectively. iSIMS has been designed to be multi user application and various stake
holders can log in and do their respective routine activities.

The iSIMS database was structurally designed which makes it easy for the
application to categorize data for each user groups. When a user from any user group
log in to iSIMS, they can manipulate only their own data. They cannot see data which
they are not supposed to see.

2. How to launch the iSIMS?


 The iSIMS system is a web based system and has its own user management. Only
authorized users can have access to the application.
 To lunch the system type the following URL http://servername/isims

 The following is the log in window which you01 will see when you launch the application.
Write your username and password to login to the system.
After successful log in, you will see the main window as you can see bellow

3. Staff management
In this menu group, you can create new staff user give role

Administrative staff
1. Expand staff management then click on administrative staff
2. Then click on add new after that fill the require fields then click
on save

3. Finally, you can delete or edit user by clicking on signs

4. User management
Manage users
1. Expand user management then click on manage users
2. Then click on activity to see more information about the user
3. Finally, you can edit or delete user

User access level


1. Expand user management then click on user access level
2. Then fill the require fields after that click on save
3. Finally, you can edit by selecting four function read, insert update, delete
4. Also you can delete the user

Reset user password


1. Expand user management then click on reset user password
2. Then select the user after that click on reset password

Manage role
1. Expand user management then click on manage roles
2. Then type role after that click on save
3. Finally, you can delete or edit role

User and roles


1. Expand user management then click on users and roles
2. Then select user name after that click on role you want to give the user
3. Finally, you delete the user in module

BA roles
1. Expand user management then click on BA roles
2. Then select BA after that select roles then click on save
3. Finally, you delete BA roles

Access level report


1. Expand user management then click on access level report
2. Then fill require fields after that click on generate

5. Manage Portal Users:


Click on “Manage Portal Users” Menu item next to the user Management
Section, then this window will appear with a list of users and roles.

Manage portal user


Select the role of the user and click the show all users will be populated on the
grade and you can delete or edit the user.
1) If you have to Edit/delete a user, please select a user and click on this icon
to edit their Roles and to delete after you are confirmed you want
to delete the user role association.

Export Students

Export student users:


1. Click Export Students
2. Choose Entry year, Admission Type and Program
3. Click the Export Button

Export Instructors
iSIMS backend application allows you to export different types of users,
instructor user can also be exported. To export instructors, management or
any other user type
1. Choose Department
2. Select the instructors
3. Click the Export button
Reset user Password
The administrator can rest lost, or forgotten password. To Rest Password
1. Click the Reset Password Ling
2. Choose on of the two tabs (Student Users or Staff Users )
3. To reset password of a student : Select Collecge , Entry Year , and user name
4. To reset Staff password , Select staff user name
5. Click Rest Password
6. The system will display a completionmessage

Staff(Student) Users List


iSIMS allows you to generate Posrtal users to generate list of Staff users
1. Select the Role of the user
2. Choose Departement
3. Click ghe button and the system will display detail account
information (username, and password) .
Page access history
1. Expand portal user then click on page access history
2. Then fill the require fields after that click on show

Search portal user


1. Expand portal user then click on search portal user
2. Then select student or staff then enter the require field after that click on
search

6. Audit Log
You can do the following activities:

I. Set Access Severity

II. Page Access History

III. Audit Logs


IV. User Activities

Audit Logs:

This allows you to see user activity, Event Date, Accessed Table, and event
detail.

There are two filtering ways to view Audit Logs in iSIMS

1. Filter By Date
2. Filter By

To view Audit Logs by Date


1. Expand by clicking the Audit Log
2. In the View audit log page; Choose the Filter By
3. Insert the from and to Date time
4. Click the Show button
To Filter By Date use like below
1. Expand by clicking the Audit Log
2. In the View audit log page; Choose the Filter By: Date Criteria
3. Insert the from and to Date time
4. Click the Show button and you will see a picture like below

5. To see Detail Log, click the Detail link on the right side of the grid

User activities will tell you detail activity of iSIMS users


Generate Audit Logs (By Username)
1. Click the Audit Logs Link under Audit Log
2. On the View Audit Logs Page Choose Username of the Filter By
3. Choose User Name: ISIMS.ISIMS and click the Show button
4. You will see the following diagram
5. Click the Detail link to see the detail even and you will see the following
diagram when you click the detail link

Generate Page Access History


1. Click the Page Access History Link
2. Enter the Start Date and End Date
3. Click the Show button, you will see the following diagram
Filtering by name example Edom

Write the name “Edom” in the text box and click the filter by

Generate User Activity Log

1. Expand Audit Log Menu


2. Click User Activities link,
3. Choose Filter By: Username, Student Id, Program, or Date
Page Access Severity Level User Activity Log
1. Click Page Access Severity link page
2. Put the Severity level of each page and click the save button
3. Diagrammatically it will be like below

Generate User Access Level Report


1. Click User Access Level Link on user management
2. Check the colleges you like and click Generate
3. Diagrammatically it will be like below

In iSIMS there are four ways to filter Activity
Notifications

1. Filter by Username
2. Filter by Student Id
3. Filter by Program
4. Filter by Date

Filter by Student Id

1. Use Student Id in the Filter by drop


down menu
2. Choose the Student Id
3. Click the Show button
4. You will see a result like below
Filter by Username

1. Use username in the Filter by drop down


menu
2. Select the Role
3. Choose the Users, and Click the Show
button

1. Use Program in the Filter by drop down

2. Select the Program Name, and click the
