GET A GRIP PROGRAM

RATIONALE

Today, digital learning has emerged as a necessary resource for students and schools all

over the world. Online learning is now applicable not just to learn academics but it also extends

to learning extracurricular activities for students as well. As with most teaching methods, online

learning also has its own set of positives and negatives. Decoding and understanding these

positives and negatives will help institutes and teachers in creating strategies for more efficient

delivering of lessons, and in terms of ensuring an uninterrupted learning journey for students.

Allocating an extra time and responsiveness to students beyond class hour is two of the

qualities a great online teacher should embody. The presence of a mentor to lend a helping hand

no matter how small or big the scale is, is sealed to them by virtue of their profession.

Thus, scheduling consultation hour is deemed necessary. It is a value-added service beyond

class hour for the students to seek assistance on academic and other school related concerns.

To achieve this, the need for student-teacher Online Consultation must be implemented.

GET A GRIP PROGRAM aims to help students cope with lessons, intensify learning or as

simple as sharing to their teachers what bothers them. The outcome of the consultation will

be used as a basis in determining which lessons and areas needed to be strengthened as part of an

intervention program plan to help low performing students. A sudden changed in behavior, a

more engaged students on his academics, motivated individuals and increase score to test

and quizzes are examples of desirable outcomes teachers expect among students to measure

effectiveness of this program.


Objectives:

The objective of this program is to provide and implement an online consultation platform for

students to assist them in their academic difficulties. It also seeks to:

 Determine how teaching approaches, strategies, and beliefs affect the students will know,
feel, or do.
 Identify effective and creative ways in establishing interactive online learning
environment.
 Provide needed data that may be used for the improvement of teachers’ teaching
pedagogies, curriculum evaluation and intervention plans
