This is a summary of the third installment of the Alegria Girls series

entitled ‘Tripped’, written by Jonah Mae Pacala, published in 2016. The

author wishes to emphasize the importance of being able to have a happily
ever after, even with the roller coaster ride of life.
Lilienne Ylena Altamirano is not just any probinsyana. The ‘prim-and-
proper modest probinsyana’ image is way out of her league. Their family’s
rich and influential—but she’s a known headache. She's a globetrotter. A
lioness. She can tame every desperate, shallow man. And she is not easily
tamed; by anyone, or by anything—or so she thought. Because there is
something she can’t do, a guy she can’t tame. Because it bothers her,
that's what she focused on. All her baby steps, progressively, are leading to
him. Because, no, she doesn’t believe she can’t do it. She can always do it,
you see. She's Lilienne Ylena Altamirano!
But Riguel Jameson Alleje isn’t just an easy to get man. From being
the student council president, to being a candidate for Summa Cum Laude
in Accountancy, and planning to take Law in Grad School, it’s merely
impossible for her to even get his attention!

She thinks she'd succeed with her plan, only to find out it turned out the
other way, instead of her taming him, he tamed her instead. They got into a
relationship, but Lilienne ended it after months. She guarded her heart,
she’s way too far for him. She’s afraid, she toppled, stumbled ... complete
with bruises ... and the pieces of her heart were scattered on the ground ...
Because it was all too late. It's all too late. She tripped. When she thought
that was the greatest downfall of her life, things got a lot worse.

Her twin, Yeshua Altamirano died because of brain injury, because he was
hit in the head trying to save her from a bunch of troublemakers. Yeshua
died because he didn't survive his operation. Before the operation, Yeshua
cannot remember his beloved parents and his twin. Lilienne blamed herself
for everything that happened with her life, mostly to what happened to her
twin. She motivated herself to study hard, to change her ways, she wants
to prove that she’s not a useless daughter, and she never failed herself.
She excitedly travelled all the way to their mansion to spread the news that
she belongs in a list who would graduate in college. But before she
announced the good news, she found her mother laying down on the
kitchen floor. She pleaded for help—shouted all she could, but it was
already too late, she lost her mother. After her mother died, it wasn’t long
till his father followed.

She was left all alone. When she thought everything seems to be
fine, it only turned out to be so much worse.

Lilienne is the only one to survive in her family. She almost took her
life too—with all those tragedies that happened, she blamed herself. From
a carefree girl, being shut tight to a tiny world of her own. Slowly, their
riches faded, and all that’s left is her. She decided to go to her friend in
Japan. Her bestfriend. She worked to save money going back to the
Philippines. She's leaving under the roof of her bestfriend’s residence.
Final with her decision, she will not make the same mistakes again.
Alegria, she'll be back firm; free from the damage, free from the pain. She
vowed to never fall again. That's for sure now. But then again ... she
tripped.
Finally found the right timing, she decided to go back to the Philippines—to
her hometown to reclaim the title of their mansion because she knew that it
was sold years ago. But as she got there, thinking that it was heavily
renovated—turned out to be the same as it was before.
Wondering who the new owner might be, she was led by a maid to
her father’s former office, and it turned out the new owner is none other
than Riguel! Only this time, he’s already Atty. Riguel Alleje, already a
lawyer!
She thought she had her indestructible walls up, it turned out being
shattered again as she saw her love again. She lost hope knowing that
their love ended in such a long time. Having an awkward ambiance, she
swallows her pride and demands to take their mansion back. But this is not
easy, Riguel demands for the both of them to marry!

Astounded at the bribery, she later on agreed because this is the only
property that’s left of her. She agreed to be married but with sets of rules
Their wedding is civil, Riguel’s grandmother is very happy that they got
engaged because she know that Riguel is very happy with Lilienne. He
wanted to call Lilienne’s parents, but he didn’t know that they already
passed away, what he only knew was they got out of country.

Riguel never really moved on from Lilienne. She was the only one he
ever loved, he studied seriously because being raised by his grandparents,
ne needs to strive hard. He wants to prove himself to be worthy, to be able
to give one of Alegria’s heiress a life she deserves. He became successful,
bought her mansion, patiently waiting for her to come back to his arms
again.
With their journey as newly wedded couple, it became a fuss in Alegria. But
they didn’t mind it though, Months after that they clarified their feelings.
Riguel almost filed an annulment because he’s scared that Lilliene might be
choked from their relationship. And in loving someone, it shouldn’t be like
that. But Lilliene never really moved on from him, he will always be and
forever the person that owns her heart.

After all of that Riguel and Lilienne got finally and truthfully engaged
with full of love—not just because of an agreement. He knew about the
truth why she left, even the death of her entire family. Their wedding is held
in the center of their flower plantation. She moved on from the guilt, He
waited patiently, with their vows, they promised to love each other ‘till
death.
She tripped again, but this time, she was caught by his embrace.
