What I Need to Know

This module was designed and written with you in mind. It is here to help
you master the nature of Biology. The scope of this module permits it to be
used in many different learning situations. The language used recognizes
the diverse vocabulary level of students. The lessons are arranged to follow
the standard sequence of the course. But the order in which you read them
can be changed to correspond with the textbook you are now using.

After going through this module, you are expected to:

a. Recognize the two driving procedures and techniques.
b. Achieve a poem regarding driving procedures and techniques
c. Appreciate the different driving procedures and techniques

Starting from the basics, the transmission in your vehicle is what applies
the power that is created by your engine to move the vehicle forward. Your
transmission controls the power that goes to the wheels, determining what
speed you drive at. There are two main components to a transmission; the
shaft, and the gears. The shaft is the part that takes the energy from the
engine to help your vehicle move, while the gears help to determine the
range of speed you can reach.

Lesson
Driving Procedures and
1 Techniques

Driving “stick” is a popular term for those who know how to drive a car with
a manual transmission. Manual transmissions, needing a unique skill set to
wield, give drivers more control over shifting, power, and many think it
enhances the overall driving experience.

Automatic transmissions shift automatically through gears as needed,

allowing the driver to focus on the road and their passengers. The
differences in feel and mechanics run deep as we compare manual and
automatic transmissions through this guide.

What I Have Learned

1. Driving “stick” is a popular term for those who know how to drive a
car with a manual transmission.
2. Manual transmissions, needing a unique skill set to wield, give drivers
more control over shifting, power, and many think it enhances the
overall driving experience.
3. Automatic transmissions shift automatically through gears as needed,
allowing the driver to focus on the road and their passengers.
4. The differences in feel and mechanics run deep as we compare
manual and automatic transmissions through this guide.
5. For manual transmission, in changing gears, a clutch disc
sandwiched between the engine and the transmission needs to be
released via a third pedal located on the left side of the brake. Release
the clutch, select the desired gear, and engage the clutch again. From
a standstill, engaging the clutch too slowly will wear out the disc
prematurely, and engaging it too quickly will cause the engine to stall.
6. Automatic transmission that shifts gears on its own was once
considered a luxury, and it was an expensive option on many models
for a long time.

5
What I Can Do

Instructions: Construct a 5 sentence paragraph explaining the importance

of knowing how to use manual and automatic transmission.

Assessment

Arrange the ff. characteristics of Manual and Automatic transmission

into the table where it is belonged. See the sample table.
 Does not entail human observation and cannot guarantee use-
friendliness or positive costumer experience.
 Is a practical option when the test cases are run repeatedly over a long
time period.
 It is only practical when the test cases are run once or twice, and
frequent repetition is not required.
 Investment is required for human resources.

6
 It us more reliable, as it is performed by tools and/or scripts.
 It is time consuming taking up human resources.
 It is executed by software tools, so it is significantly faster than a
manual approach.
 Investment is requires for tools.
 It is not accurate at all times due to human error, hence it is less
reliable.
 Allows for human observation, which may be more useful if the goal is
user-friendliness or improved costumer experience.
