    This is a complete hands-on role with some team/resource management duties. Heavy SQL
    experience is required. The ideal candidate will have 12 to 15 years of professional
    experience in developing applications using .NET Core and SQL. Good knowledge of
    application design and architecture is also desired. 

    Job Summary

    The Senior Software engineer will work with fellow Architects, data engineers, product
    managers, business analysts, QA, Vendor development team and Business stakeholders from
    the team to design and build data-centric web and integration applications to support the
    acquisition and processing of large volumes of Catastrophe risk data from various on Prem &
    Cloud systems into the strategic Guy Carpenter Data Lake in Azure Cloud. You will be the lead
    facilitator on innovative initiatives and will have ownership over the design, development, and
    delivery of projects. Apart from this, this role will also require you to be the lead technologist
    and main point of contact with our partnering vendors on all technology discussions, design &
    deployment strategies, architectural dependencies and helping them to succeed in the same
    shared goals as the team’s IT staff. Even though we expect you to be skilled in .NET Core, we
    expect you to spread your wings to other areas of the Platform developed in Python, Spark,
    Databricks etc.

    Responsibilities:
     Supporting the design and development of Analytics Modernization applications and
    partner with the developers of Vendor team to successfully deliver the solutions to UAT
    & Production.
     Act as the lead technical authority from Guy Carpenter development team in educating
    Vendor team on design & delivery, best practices & Coding standards and CI/CD
    processes.

     Provide application design feedback to the Vendor project team on an ongoing basis &
    Provide technical oversight.

     Design & build API & data integrations between the various applications in the Platform
    utilizing modern cloud based stack like Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions and Azure
    Data Factory.

     Construct and maintain data pipelines between GC’s databases, and other sources with
    the data lake utilizing modern ETL frameworks

     Collaborate closely with Agile Dev team members, Product Owners, business users,
    Product Manager, Architects & QA to deliver business value.

     Automate build, test (unit, functional, security vulnerability and performance) and
    deployment of the code part of the CI/CD pipeline by working closely with DevOps &
    Platform Engineers.

     Participate in continual improvement of the tools and processes involved in the


    software development process. Work with Quality Assurance (QA) and Business teams
    on bug tracking/issue management and Production Support. Performs end-user and
    technical support to Business user’s queries & issues. Engages with Business to
    understand scope and how critical new change requests are

    Qualifications:

     Bachelor’s or master's degree in Computer Science or related field or have relevant


    experience.
     5-10 years of relevant experience as a Senior Software Engineer with experience in
    coding with .NET, .NET Core, Python, Spark, SQL and Javascript (Angular).
