    1. PURPOSE:

    To define the general sequence of events and responsibilities for carrying out for Tiling Works,
    the measures adopted for safe and systematic completion of the same.

    2. APPLICABLE STANDARDS / SPECIFICATIONS:


     Tender Specification Volume-2, Section- 06
     BS 6431

    3. METHDOLOGY:
     Ensure the tile layouts for each area are ready before the commencement of tiling activity as
    this shall avoid cutting where necessary shall be laid against walls, and shall exceed or equal to
    half the tile width.
     Tiles shall be laid fine and even with straight joints of uniform width of 2mm between the tiles
     Tiles shall be soaked in water for at least one hour prior to use.
     Neat cement paste shall be battered on the back of the tile pressed on to the background
    surface and tapped gently with a wooden/rubber mallet.
     Any gap between the tiles and background shall be filled with cement paste so as to avoid
    hollowness behind the tiles.
     To check the tile surface use spirit level from time to time
     The joints shall be grouted with approved Epoxy based grout

    4. HSE PRECAUTIONS AND MEASURES:


     All labours / supervisors involved in the above work shall wear appropriate Personal
    Protection Equipments like gloves, safety belt, safety shoe and goggles etc.
     Before employing personnel at site HSE engineer shall make sure that all the workmen
    under gone safety induction program. All workmen shall be briefed about the associated
    hazards and the precautionary measures involved in the job.
     Safe access to the work area will be provided along with adequate illumination.
     Appropriate scaffolding shall be provided as needed to allow safe working

     All material shall be conforming to specification.


     Responsible staff to ensure completion of the specification requirement shall review records.
     All measuring instruments shall have valid calibration certificates.
     All instruments and equipment's to be arranged and verified at completion.

    7. METHOD STATEMENT BRIEFING:


    The Method statement shall be briefed to all the peoples involved in the execution, to ensure
    complete understanding and adherence.
