good workmanship. Accordingly the method statement has been prepared based on the Specifications.

RAMP TOP RECRIFICATION

1.0 SCOPE OF WORK

Concrete Ramp Top preparation in floor area without undulation of floor surface has been described
following subject under section 3.0 method of application. 3 methods discussed under the method
statement.

1. Cutting by using grinder and polish (need cutting for maintain level)
2. Repair Ramp top with chip Concrete (need filling(>50mm) for maintain level)
3. Repair Ramp top with approved grout (need filling(<50mm) for maintain level)

2.0 METHOD OF APPLICATION

2.1 Cutting by using grinder and polish (need cutting for maintain level)

 Measure the required length to cut the surface.

 Mark the starting and end point of maintain level.

 Cut the required depth by using grinder.

 Remove the extra particles from the surface by chipping.
 Smooth the surface using by diamond wheel with 7” or 4” grinder.

2.2 Repair Ramp top with chip Concrete (need filling (>50mm) for maintain level)

 Cut the 40mm edge from starting and end point of rectification area from the actual finish
 Maintain and check the r/f availability of top layer.
 Chip the entire area and get proper surface to place concrete.
 Place the level points for get actual ramp finish level
 Apply bonding agent before concrete place.
 chip concrete (1:1:3- cement, sand,1/2 metal) will be casted on level and place the filling area

 The topping will be fully compacted by means of wooden tamper or other suitable compacting
equipment
 The surface will be finished smooth with steel floats to the satisfaction of the officer in charge.
 The area will be corded off to prevent damage.
 Curing will done until 72 hours.

2.3 Repair Ramp top with approved grout (need filling (<50mm) for maintain level)

 Mark the starting and end point of rectification area

 Chip the entire area and get proper surface to place to grouting.
 Place the level points for get actual ramp finish level
 Apply bonding agent before grouting work.
 Approved grout will be use to filling area. Mixing ratio will use as TDS.
 The surface will be finished smooth with steel floats to the satisfaction of the officer in charge.
 The area will be corded off to prevent damage.
 Curing will done until 72 hours.

Sieving of sand should be done for mortar for plastering. Sands shall be used in plaster as per BS 1200.

c. Water
Water must meet the requirements of SLS 522.

NOTE: 1:5 cement sand ratio and 18mm thickness of rendering to be done as per BOQ.

2.0 METHOD OF APPLICATION

2.1 Surface Preparation and Cleaning

 The laitance on the concrete shall be entirely removed by complete chipping with a metal tool.
 All loose concrete and dirt shall be removed by thorough washing.
 All required openings for mechanical and electrical services, conduits pipes shall be installed and
water lines to be pressure tested prior to rendering.
 Before cement mortar to be laid, the base concrete shall be wetted and any excess water brushed
off before starting.

2.2 Skirting for Cement Rendered Floor

 Skirting work shall be in cement sand mortar 1:4. (Skirting clean height will be 100mm)
 The skirting not flush with the block wall.
 The junction of floor finish and skirting shall be maintaining at 90 degree angle or in the manner
directed by the office in-charge.
 The finishing of the skirting shall match the floor finish.

2.3 Cement Rendering

 Place the level points from cement mortar for the floor finish level at rendering area.
 Apply cement, sand mix proportion 1:1 grout shall be brushed into the base prior to the start
rendering.
 All topping material will be mixed by hand or using mixer (machine) with 1:5 (1 part cement and 5
parts sand.)
 The topping will be fully compacted by means of wooden tamper or other suitable compacting
equipment
 Cement slurry will be applied top of the tampered and levelled mortar area. The surface will be
finished smooth with steel floats to the satisfaction of the officer in charge.
