    Assignment - Describing a Process

    Use the following flow charts and write a paragraph on


    processing.
    1. Publication of newspapers: Press reporters collect news-
    press photographers take pictures- news sorted and edited –
    paper rolls inserted – news printed – folded and cut –
    newspaper ready for distribution- delivered home.
    2.Mixture for re-hydration -: clean hands ,clean pots,
    teaspoon, tablespoon, cups – one litre boiled but cold water in a
    pot – sugar or honey : 2 tablespoon full – Ordinary salt ¼
    tablespoon-orange juice1/2 cup or lemon juice a few drops –
    sodiumbicarb(edible soda) ¼ teaspoon full- stirring well- ready
    to drink.
    3.Lemon squash : collecting lemons and scrubbing- scrapping
    the lemon rind- boiling the lemon with water- allowing it to
    cool- squeezing out the juice- straining through a sieve- citric
    acid mixed and sugar.
    4.Preparation of tea: take a cup fill of water- put on an oven
    for boiling – tea leaves added- mixture prepared – mix sugar
    and milk.
    5.Preparation of mango-pickle: mangoes bought- sorting and
    removing rotten ones- cleaning- cutting into pieces-drying-
    mixing spices,salt,chilli and mustard oil-keeping in a big flat pot
    in the sun- pouring into jars.
    6. How a tree grows –selecting a plot of land- digging and
    watering-the bed- application of manure- collection of seeds-
    sowing seeds- watering- coming up new shoots- removing
    weeds- foliage branches spreading.
    7. Cooking rice: take rice, water- put on stove- boil for 30
    minutes- test the rice- cover the pan- tilt the pan- remove the
    lid-water evaporates- rice is ready.
    8.Making an omelete: cutting onion- breaking egg in abowl-
    mixing with onion, chilli, ginger pieces- adding salt and stirring-
    pouring oil in a frying pan- mixture poured and spread on pan-
    solidifies and rolled- served hot in a plate.
    9. Making tomato jelly: tomato bought from market- sorting
    and removing rotten ones- cleaning-smashing- juice extracting-
    boiled for 30 minutes- sugar chilli added- jelly prepared.
    10 . Formation of rain: water from seas and streams heated by
    sunrays - water vapour rises high in the sky- the higher it goes,
    the cooler it becomes- condenses into cloud- becomes too
    heavy to hold water drops- falls on the earth.
    11.Growing paddy: seed-bed prepared- paddy seeds sown-
    seeds grown into plants about six inches high- plants
    transplanted- nourished with water and manure- preserved
    from pests and pesticides applied- plants grown and grains
    matured- cutting and threshing sheaves- preserving.
    12. Preparation of salad: cucumbers, carrots cleaned and sliced-
    onions sliced- tomatoes cut into pieces- mint leaves chopped-
    mixed with chillies- lemon juice added- salt and pepper
    sprinkled- salad oil added- mixture of all ingredients tossed-
    salad prepared.
