Asian Games 2018 and Their New Sports

The 2018 Asian Games (2018 Asian Games), officially known as the 18th Asian
Games and also known as Jakarta-Palembang 2018, are pan-Asian multi-sport events held
from 18 August to 2 September 2018 in the city city of Indonesia in Jakarta and Palembang.

The first time, Asian Games were held simultaneously in two cities; Indonesia's
capital city Jakarta (which hosted the Olympics for the first time in 1962), and Palembang,
the capital of the province of South Sumatra. The event was held in and around two cities,
including locations in Bandung and several places in the provinces of West Java and Banten.
The opening and closing ceremony of the Olympics was held at the Bung Karno Main
Stadium, Jakarta. eSports and polo canoeing were first included as exhibition sports. In the
2018 Asian Games this time there are 10 new sports. ten sports branches include rollersport,
bridge, 3x3 basket, jet ski, pencak silat, jiu jitsu, sambo, kurash, paragliding and rock
climbing. In addition, there are also youngest athletes and influence 2018 Asian Games
participants. China led medals for the time in a row. North and South Korea marched under
the Korea Unification Flag at the opening ceremony and, for the first time, competed as a
united team in several match numbers; they also won one and the first gold medal as a united
team. Japanese swimmer Rikako Ikee was announced as the best athlete (MVP) for this
sports party. In this sports event 6 world records, 18 Asian records, and 86 Asian Sports Party
records have been successfully broken.

The implementation of the 2018i Asian Games must be addressed with serious work
and mutual cooperation from all national sports stakeholders. Only by working together,
there is no more concern to realize the four successes, namely implementation, achievement,
administration, and economic growth.
