B. Operation

(1) The cylinder assembly contains the extinguishing agent.

(2) When the cartridge holder is turned clockwise (shown by the arrow label on the
cartridge holder), the piercing pin assembly ruptures the cartridge. This releases the
carbon dioxide and pressurizes the extinguishing agent in the cylinder.

(3) When the lever is manually operated, the pressure in the cylinder pushes the
extinguishing agent out through the nozzle. The nozzle controls the shape (spray)
of the agent discharge.
