1. CONSIDER THAT…
2.1. Is recommended that the unit be secured into its position in order to avoid any displacement.
2.2. Never use gasoline, gasoline type lantern fuel, kerosene or similar liquids to start the stove. Keep all such
liquids well away from the pellet stove.
2.3. Do not attempt to operate the stove with broken glass.
2.4. Ensure that the combustion chamber glass door is firmly closed during the appliance operation; check the
ash pot box and the cleaning hatches also.
2.5. Do not overfire the stove, a continuous heat stress could cause a premature ageing and make the painting to
spoil, (is recommended that the exhaust temperature does not exceed 250 ºC).
3. FUEL QUALITY.
Your pellet appliance works with biomass (pellets). Since there are many classes of biomass with very
different qualities, is important to select those that are free of any impurities.
The performance of your pellet stove is greatly affected by the type and quality of wood pellets being
burned.
Since Ecoforest do not have any type of control over the biomasa (pellet) quality used, cannot guarantee the
full performance of your stove nor of the installation. We recommend to use our pellet approved under the DIN
51731 standard and recognisable for our Ecoforest badge, printed on 15 Kg. bags.
4. INSTALLATION.
As the VIGO AND VENUS stoves are installed in the same way, we will only show the VIGO model.
3
4.3. Always stainless steel piping, never use aluminium pipes.
4.4. In case of assembling the stove in a french chimney, use flexible stainless steel pipe.
4.5. Aluminium tape and high temperature resistant silicone (300ºC).
4.6. The gas exhaust must be placed in a wind blowing zone , never in closed or semi-closed zones, as garages,
corridors, inside the building air-tyre, or any location that can build up a concentration of fumes.
4.7. Stove surfaces can become hot enough to cause burns if touched by children or elderly people, we
recommend the use of non-combustible shielding.
The exhaust pipe termination should be higher than the stove outlet. Is essential that at least 1,5 m of
vertical pipe be installed when the appliance is vented directly through a wall to create a natural draft to
prevent the possibility of smoke or door during appliance shut down or power failure.
4.8. Clearances from doors, windows, vent grids or air inlet into buildings:
4.9. Minimum distance from the exhaust to floor should not be less than 65 cm, depending always of the surface
type. The exhaust gases are hot enough to ignite grass, plants and shrubs located close the exhaust
termination.
4.10. Distance between exhaust termination and public walkways should be of at least 2 m.
4.11. Distance to combustible materials is 65-cm. minimum.
4.12. Never insert the exhaust pipe of the stove in a chimney or an existing installed pipe of four times the stove
pipe section. (± Ø 200mm).
4.13. Do not install the exhaust pipe in any type of shared piping, as the one of an extractor hood.
4.14. Whether the exhaust termination is not properly installed or combustion air mixture is poor, could occur
that either the fumes soil the home wall or the building front, and to get a quantity in excess of ashes up
inside the stove y cause an early damage of the different metallic parts.
4.15. Check clearances between stove and fuels or any type of flammable material.
4.16. Do not install the stove in a bedroom.
4.17. The power cord supplied by Ecoforest is 1,8 long, an extension cord could be required to reach the
electrical outlet. Use always a grounded cord.
FREE CLEARANCES
Safety clearances should be respected when the stove is installed where the surrounding materials are
combustible.
Exhaust pipe could be installed through a wall using a 45º-90º elbow or a stainless steel flex pipe, placing a
tee with cleanout and 1.5 in vertical, see figure 1:
4
A Stove side to wall. 420 mm
Figure 1
4.16. Choose a location for your stove that meets the requirements stated in this manual (section “Location of the
appliance”). Installation will result very simple and might not affect to house structure, plumbing or wiring.
4.17. Install any protection on the floor if necessary, in most of cases is enough with the mounting base supplied
with the appliance.
4.18. Consider the safety clearances to the wall.
4.19. Locate the centre of the exhaust pipe on the stove. Extend that line to the wall, use a hole saw with a widian
crown to cut a 9 cm hole; ensure to leave 100 mm clearance between possible combustible materials that
could exist inside the wall.
4.20. Introduce the vent pipe through the hole on the wall, connect it to the exhaust pipe on the stove and fix it
with a metal flange. The pipe joints should be sealed with high temperature resistant silicone and
aluminium tape.
4.21. Push the stove straight back until to be in its definitive location.
4.22. Place an stainless steel tee on the outside part of the building, with this tee we will achieve at the same
time, both to carry the piping vertically and to have a cleanout for future maintenance works. In the event
of having an inside chimney, the tee should be placed inside the home, at the rear part of the stove.
4.23. Secure the pipe to the wall with metal support brackets.
4.24. Install a stainless steel rain cap at the pipe termination, is the one we recommend for the piping more
lasting.

The first thing to do is to locate the keyboard, that goes inside the fireplace together with the remote
control.
Alter fitting the screws of the keyboard support (q) ( w only in the standing stove), we must plug the flat
cable for the keyboard connection (u), that goes inside the stove on the right, looking it from the front, and pass it
through the back grid and connect it to the keyboard (y), it only has one joining position.
Finally, connect the room thermostat (t) and the feeding cable in the input (e).
The room thermostat goes in the rear part of the stove, as showed in figure 7a, we will know that it is
recognized by the stove since the room temperature is displayed on the control panel. If we connect a different
thermostat as the one supplied by Ecoforest instead of the room temperature, this sign ( · ) appears, showing that
there exists something connected to the communication port.
At present, we have an external connection adaptor available, with different connections, for Ecoforest
room thermostat, for other manufacturers thermostat and for any external contact to switch on/off the stove.
The external contact to switch on /off the stove needs its activation through the “Menu 3”- Technical
Service, point 3-4, “external activation”.
7
CAUTION!, THOSE CONTACTS MUST STAY FREE OF VOLTAGE, THAT IS TO SAY, OPEN OR
CLOSED CONTACT, IN NO WAY TO 230V/240V ~ 50Hz AS THE C.P.U. RUN THE RISK OF BEING
DAMAGED.
Figure 7
At present we have, an optional adaptor for a wired room thermostat connection (or any type of contact)
and for the stove activation through an external contact. Please contact your dealer for further information.
5. OPERATION.

For a good stove operation is essential to attain the following cleaning and maintenance operations with the
indicated regularity. Always when the stove is cold.
15
11.1. Heat exchangers.
Pull off from the rake pullers, this work is advisable to do with the glass door firmly closed to achieve that
the ash falls within the stove. Repeat this operation every day when the stove is completely cold.
Figure 12
11.2. Ash in the burning pot.
When we open the front glass door we accede to the burning pot, where the combustion takes
place; vacuum it off and take it out, (pay attention when placing it again), in order to clean all the
holes, checking that all of them remains completely clean and vacuum out the burning pot holder
where it is placed.
Figure 13
Figure 14
IMPORTANT: If the stove works with ash or remainders saturation, this can deform both the burning pot
and burning holder, and even the ash pot box, causing therefore a defective operation.
16
END OF SEASON CLEANING
It is essential to ensure the continuity of the good operation and to make the life of the appliance longer. As
soon as the cold season ends, contact your dealer (if he has still not done it to you), to arrange an appointment to
make this maintenance, the following works will be due to carry out (always unplug the stove).
Burning pot.
Burning pot holder.
Heat exchanger pipes..
Movable parts screws.
11.7. Cleaning of the exhaust circuit of stove. Always unplug the stove (Very important).
After checking that the stove is unplugged, disassemble the side doors, that give access to the cleaning
hatches, remove side-cleanout holes and introduce the cleaning brush by them moving it repeatedly in all
senses to be able to make all the ash adhered to the chamber walls to come off. Act in the same way with
the t cleanout hole in the front.
For an optimal cleaning of the exhaust collector is recommended to disassemble the own exhaust, this will
give a full access to the area for a better cleaning. Once the exhaust is out, clean it with a dry brush, paying
special attention to the turbine and the case.

pull up from the side panels until disassembled them, by this way we can reach the side cleanout holes, as
in the Vigo model (see point r)
Figure 16
It is advisable to calculate the regularity of the cleanout holes clearing, according to the operation hours,
avoiding it to remain full of ashes.
Once we have the stove walls fully clean, we must ensure that the clearing traps are completely closed, as
on them depends the good working of the stove.
11.10. Lubrication of the auger screw axle, on its top and lower part. Do it with a spray in small quantities.
q Auger motor.
w Brass case and lubrication point.
Figure 17
q Cleaning brush
w Fuel dropping pipe.
Figure 18
IMPORTANT: After a cleaning or a final perfection, it is essential to check the correct operation of the
stove. After it, and once the stove is turned off and during the season that is not used, leave the stove unplugged
until the new season.
It is reduced to control that either at the combustion air intake and the exhaust there is no object (as
nests) that could prevent a normal circulation.
18
Furthermore, it is advisable to clean the rear part of the stove, to which we accede through the back grid or
the side doors, in order to remove possible dust gathered during the summer season.
12.1. Do not switch the stove on and off rapidly. This may cause internal damage in the electronic components
and the 230 V motor.
12.2. Do not touch the stove with wet hands. The stove is an electrical appliance, though is equipped with earth
wire, may pose a shock hazard if handled improperly. Only qualified technicians should deal with possible
electrical failures.
12.3. Do not remove any screws in the firebox without first lubricate them with penetrating oil.
WHAT TO DO IF...
12.4. Make sure the stove is plugged in and the wall outlet is supplying power.
12.5. Verify that the cord is not cut or damaged.
Unplug the stove and disassemble the right side door, check that there is not any loosen strip on the CPU.

12.12. Pay special attention to the stove cleaning since an excessive dirt could make the stove not to ignite.
12.13. Observe that the ignition resistance works.
12.14. Check that the ignitor warms up, removing the burn pot liner and observing that it glows (do not touch it).
THE EXHAUST BLOWER DOES NOT WORK, OR DOES NOT WORK NORMALLY
12.15. Unplug the stove and try to loose a possible tight motor by rotating it with your hands, ensure before, that
the stove is unplugged.
12.16. Check that the motor is being supplied with current by switching the stove on.
12.17. Verify also the exhaust and condenser terminal strip, located at the rear part of the stove in case there is
some loose cable.
12.18. Ensure that the turbine is not tight. Unplug the stove, open the right side door and rotate it with the hand to
ensure that it turns with total freedom.
12.19. If the auger motor does not turn and the display indicates the pulses, the first thing to do is unplug the stove
and check that the safety thermostat is not enabled. If it were opened before, it is enough with closing it by
pressing in cold its button with a ball-point pen or a hard object.
12.20. Check that the glass door is firmly closed.
12.21. If it turns slower than usual, it may have something blocking it, as a screw, a piece of wood, etc. To solve it,
it would be necessary to drain the hopper, and even remove the auger screw.
12.22. If the auger motor makes a noise while is turning, it could be due to the lack of lubrication. Lubricate the
screw, never the own auger motor.
12.23. Ensure that the exhaust motor works as, if it does not work, there is not fuel dropping.
