Expectation
After finishing this module, you are expected to present a novel concept or
project accompanying with graphics and visual aids.
Pre-Test
A. Directions: Identify the following questions by encircling the letter of the correct
answer.
1. This is presenting data without using text.
A. graphs/visual aids B. captions C. balloons D.concepts
2. This graph is used to show that things change as time passes by.
Looking Back
In your previous lesson, you were given instructions about the comparison and
contrast of concepts according to area of specialization or subject.
In this view, I want you to answer the following questions to find out if you could
still recall the lesson well.
Brief Discussion
You may be watching news about COVID-19; the death toll, the places where
infections are higher and which are unsafe to visit, or you may be reading your favorite book
in literature since you are still not allowed to go places. But listening or reading alone without
graphics and visual aids that support the written text is not easy to comprehend, that is the
reason children books use illustrations like comic strips, graphs and other visual aids.
In writing a concept paper, you also need to use graphics and visual aids to visually show
the connection or relationship of data. There are information which are not easily understood
by merely using text, thus, should be supported with graphical data to be more vivid and easy
to comprehend.
There are different types of graphs:
1. Bar graph a diagram in which the numerical values of variables are represented by
the height or length of lines or rectangles of equal width.
Example: In this graph it shows the death toll of different regions in the Philippines; the
lowest is Aparri while the highest is Region 4A.
2. Line graph a graph with points connected by lines to show something changes in
value: as time goes by, or as something else changes.
Example: This line graph presents the quarterly sale in figures of unspecified mall.
Take note of the changes of data. First quarter got the highest
sale while the fourth got the lowest sale.
3. Pie graph is a special chart that uses “pie slices “to show relative sizes
of data.
4. Flow charts are graphic organizers that show how step in the process fit together.
This makes them useful tools for communicating, how processes work, and for
clearly documenting how a particular job is done. It also helps clarify the process and
show what part in the process can be improved.
Example:
The graphic organizer below shows the step by step process on how to
cook rice.
5. Tables are means of displaying data or information in rows and columns. It is used
in research, data analysis and communication.
Example:
A. Venn Diagram- is a visual tool used to compare and contrast two
or more objects, events, people or
concepts. It is often used in Language Arts and Math classes to organize
differences and similarities.
Activity 1:

Things to Remember:
There are lot of things which you must consider when starting up a project or a
novel concept.
• Start with a bit of information that piques your interest;
• Know the people, setting, things, genre, and events of the concept;
• Decide on the graphical/visual aids you will use for the concept you choose; and ,
read
• Use graphs, diagrams, tables, and other visual aids in making your concept paper
to make it interesting and comprehensive.
Check Your Understanding
Directions: As your final output this semester, communicate with your
classmates through your GC and group yourselves into 3 groups. Consider the following
novel concepts: choose only one.
