VIEW COORDINATE FOR DIFFERENT SYSTEM

From Start icon, choose HYDROpro → Utilities → Coordinate Calculator

Then select Coordinate System → select New System then click Next button for two times
Select Malaysia Cassini State Plane for the Coordinate System Group and Zone 07 Selangor → click Next
button

Then select No geoid model → click Finish


Then by select WGS-84 tabs, fill in the Latitude (3°20’20”N), Longitude (101°50’50”E), and Height (10m)
→ then the information is automatic fill in others 3 tabs (Grid, Local, XYZ)
CREATE NEW PROJECT (PENANG BRIDGE ALIGNMENT)

Select icon Nav under HYDROpro

Under Project tab, select New Project or select icon . Fill in the requirement detail then click Next
button.

Then in the next dialog box, make sure all box are tick (to import setting from Demo survey) then click
button Next.
For the next box, fill in the details of project and then click Finish button.
SETTING

i. Display unit

From Configure dropdown, point to Display Unit. In Distance and Coordinates tabs, use Meter as
unit, 1 decimal places. After done, click OK button.

ii. Global Setting

Then select Global Setting under Configure drop down menu. In Time tabs, select Local time,
time format 24h and date format: ddmmyyyy. For Coordinates tab, select Local Grid for
Coordinate types and North, East for Coordinates order. Then click button OK.
iii. Coordinate System

After that select Coordinate System under Configure tabs menu. Click Select button.

Select New System in the Select Coordinates System. Then click Next button for 2 next box.
Select Malaysia RSO Grid under Coordinate System Group and Malaysia under Zone box. Then
click Next button.
Select No Geoid model then click Finish button.

Select button View to View Coordinate System Data. Then select OK button to dismiss the box.
iv. Vessel Configuration
Select Vessel Configuration under Configure dropdown to draw the vessel. Select Add button to
add new vessel.

Give the name of the new Vessel and select Ok button.


Select Editor button. Start draw vessel by using icon

Then select Add button below to add instrument location like GPS and Echo Sounder with their
coordinate.
Then to change color and symbol of every instrument position, select button Properties, in
Offset tabs, change the Symbol and Color for the instrument which wants to change and select
OK button o dismiss box.
v. Equipment Configuration
Select Add button to add new instrument.

Select GPS for Equipment type and NMEA for Equipment name. Then click Next button.
Then for the next box, select the necessary services. Then select Finish button.

Then Configure Equipment box will appear. Change Vessel to BOAT (name of our vessel) and
Offset (GPS). Then select Ports button.
Select PC port name (must be different for every instrument) , Bits per second. Then select Ok
button.

Then select Properties button, go to Logging tabs and choose Always for Log decoded data. Then
select OK button to dismiss box.
Then add Echo Sounder for Equipmet type and Atlas Deso 20-Datafix C for Equipment name.
Then select button next. For the next box, select Services and click Finish button.
Select Boat for Vessel and Offset choose Echo Sounder. Then select button Ports.

Choose Com2 for PC port name and 4800 for Bits per second. Then select button OK.
Select button Properties and set all like GPS setting above. Then click OK.
vi. Guidance Object
Select Guidance Object from Configure dropdown. Then select New from Group dropdown.

Then insert the name of new group.

Select Route for the Go type and insert Go name. Then select button OK.
Then starts insert the first point until the end point which has been given. Click Next button for
insert new point and choose Draw type. For the last point use Pen up for the Draw and select
Finish button.
Then click Yes button in the box appear.

Select Cross-line and click OK button.

Select our group at Destination group inserts Spacing: 50m, Length left: 250m and Length right:
250m. Then click Generate button.
DISPLAY MAP AND START WORK

Go to Display menu and choose Plan view map.


Go to Display menu and select Properties. At the Vessels tab, just select our vessels which had been use
and select OK button.
Then click the icon to edit current steer-by. At the Configuration tabs, choose Vessel name: Boat,
Offset name: GPS, GO Group: Group Baru 1, GO: CH001. Then change color at the Option tabs, then
click OK button.
The Magenta color shows the current chainage that we want to do jobs. We can chose another line by

press icon for prior or next.

Go Online
Start logging data.

Move the current steer-by
