Two methods for the preservation of holy Quran
1. Memorization حتفیظ
2. Writing کتابت
Hazrat Usman ( )ریض ہللا عنہsays: Every portion was written and
given its specified place according to the order of prophet
Muhammad ( )ﷺbecause when ever any ayat used to revealed
prophet use to call the inscribers of revelation ( )اكتبان ويحor
writers of Holy Quran to bring pen & ink to write on different
materials, say skins of animals, bones, skins of tree, big leafs and 8
stones etc.

INSCRIBERS OF HOLY QURAN
There are approximately near to fourty inscribers of holy Quran (اكتبان
)قرآنand the famous are
All four pious Caliphs ()ریض ہللا عنہم
Zaid bin Sabit ()ریض ہللا عنہ
Huzaifah bin Yaman ()ریض ہللا عنہ
Abdullah bin Rawaha ()ریض ہللا عنہ
Abdullah bin Arkam ()ریض ہللا عنہ
Khalid bin Waleed ()ریض ہللا عنہ
Khalid bin Saeed ()ریض ہللا عنہ
Maawiya bin Abi Sufyan ()ریض ہللا عنہ 11
Hazrat Usman ( )ریض ہللا عنہtitled as “Compiler of Holy Quran” جامع القرآٓن
These standard copies were sent and specified to the seven main cities of the Muslim world for their
common people so that they might be referenced whenever needed.
