RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE
The collection of data will take place at Talamban National High School, with 50 respondents of
the selected senior high school students. Respondents should complete a 5 – page online survey
questionnaire with two key components depending on the study's two variables.

The following methods were used to collect data:

Phase 1. Approval of the Transmittal Letters and the Survey Questionnaire

The researchers can properly survey their research study after receiving a letter of transmittal.
Before doing the research, the researchers must focus and deal with the needed papers, including the
transmittal letter and survey questionnaire. Before sending the final documents comprising the transmittal
letter, survey questionnaire, and affidavit of consent to be signed, the research professor should first
review and approve the survey questions. Once the Research Professor signs it, the researchers will
immediately begin conducting the study by sending the transmittal letter, affidavit of consent, and survey
questionnaire to the senior high school students.

Phase 2. Identification of the Research Setting and Respondents

The researchers will select Cebu City as the general setting and Talamban National High School
as the specific setting of this study. The researchers will choose 50 respondents in total to collect adequate
data, and the respondents will be a senior high school student.

Phase 3. Data Collection

In collecting data, the researchers will collect certain information during respondents’ free time to prevent
misunderstandings. They will seek permission from the respondents to conduct their research and they
will provide a file including the contents of the affidavit of consent and will teach respondents on using
Google Forms to complete survey questions. Researchers will start counting, recording, and evaluating
data when the respondents have completed the survey questionnaires.
Distribution Phase
The initial step will be to distribute the 50 survey questionnaires using Google Forms first before the
respondents respond.
Survey Phase
The respondents will be asked for permission to survey by the researchers. After that, the researchers will
submit a document containing the substance of the affidavit of consent, and finally, they will distribute
survey questionnaires using Google Forms.
Tabulation and Tallying Phase
The researchers will arrange and count the results after gathering all relevant information. The researcher
will link the values of willingness and ability, honesty, social conscience, impartiality, humility, and
consideration for intellectual estate and time when doing the research. The researchers will be bound by
moral constraints; they must ensure that persons participating in the study can not cause any problems.
Students seek confidence that they will not be harmed or exposed to harmful situations. The respondents
will not be embarrassed, frightened, offended, or harmed by the researchers; instead, they will offer
support to inspire and encourage them. The researchers shall explain the research to the participants and
obtain their approval or agreement. To maintain secrecy and agreements between the researchers and
respondents, righteousness is the most essential need in holding or conducting interviews.

STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA

The researchers will use the Pearson's Correlation Coefficient to compute the percentage on every scale
which enables researchers to determine the rate of every answer to statistically assess and understand the
study's data needs. According to Kenton (2021), Pearson coefficient is a type of correlation
coefficient that represents the relationship between two variables that are measured on the same interval
or ratio scale. The formula is presented below.
