Architectural Thesis CHECKLIST

This document provides a checklist for an architectural thesis divided into 5 parts: topic selection, architectural case studies, curating necessary content, design process, and report writing. It includes questions to help analyze progress and notes sections. The topic selection section helps evaluate potential thesis topics. The case studies section outlines criteria to study precedents. The content section lists contextual and conceptual study elements. It aims to guide students through the thesis process and offer a framework for organizing work.

TOPIC SELECTION
The thesis project is the single most important part of your portfolio as a fresh architecture graduate looking for a job in the industry or
applying for a graduate program. The choice of topic will reflect your interest in or experience with a particular specialized subject.
Hence, when choosing a thesis topic, you should try to align it with your plans for the near future.

DESIGNING
Design is a careful process of putting the bricks together with a
EMPATHY strong bond and long life.
Design process could be broken down into 5 distinct steps:

1. EMPATHY:
DEFINITION
Understanding the topic and curated content from various
DOGM

perspectives.
SKEPT
ATIC DESIGNING PAT

2. DEFINITION
IC DESIGNING PAT
Defining all the content, data, outcomes and results to a factual
IDEOLOGY
and skeptical statement.

3. IDEOLOGY
Defining an anchor around which the design is to be revolved.
H

PROTOTYPE
H

4. PROTOTYPE
Putting all together to form a physical interpretation.

EXECUTION
5. EXECUTION
Validating all the data through various aspects.

Designing is a space making process which suits the user most efficiently and marks a tangible impact on the society. On fundamental level, it
deals with dividing the area to achieve certain requirements, following certain rules and regulations. The design process is not a linear path, it is
an art of intersecting various aspects while staying on a balanced path to avoid an unbalanced outcome. Various aspects and assets of design is
to be assessed first and then intersection between every asset is to be found out, which ultimately steer us to an efficient pathway of designing.

planning | Material execution | Psychological, social, cultural, historical and
user consideration | Standards and bye-laws | Block model

Final Stage
Final plans, elevations and sections | Details | Site plan | Service plan |
