1. You have recently taken part in a green project, Reuse and Recycling Fashion Show, which
involved 30 teenagers collecting old clothing and material from households to make new
apparel for a fashion show. Write an article for your school magazine sharing your
experience from the project and why you recommend this activity to students at your
school. Give your article a title. You are advised to write about 200 words.

1. Letter to the Editor

You have recently read an article titled “Social media has made us less sociable in real life
than ever” from the local newspaper, The Hong Kong Times. The writer believes that social
media is destroying relationships.

You strongly agree with the writer. Write a letter to the editor expressing your views.

2. One-sided argumentative essay

Hong Kong’s legislature has approved plans to impose a garbage levy in 2023, charging
households for rubbish disposal according to the volume they produce. Hong Kong residents
will have to pay for designated bags to dispose of their rubbish in. The bags will come in nine
different sizes, ranging from three litres to 100 litres, with each litre costing HK$0.11.

Write a one-sided argumentative essay stating whether you think the garbage levy can
reduce waste in Hong Kong with 3 supporting reasons. Give your essay a title.
