Adjectives are words that modify persons, places, animals, things or events.
They make specific the meaning of words by describing or limiting them. Thus, we have two
basic classifications: descriptive and limiting.

Descriptive adjectives tell us of the size, shape, color, taste, sound, texture, or
other common characteristics of persons, places, animals, things, or events. They may also
be descriptions based on proper nouns. These are called common and proper adjectives.
Examples:
Common Adjectives: The city of Vigan is known for its beautiful beaches. Proper
Adjectives: Inciang packed the clothes in a rattan tampipi.
Limiting adjectives, on the other hand, tell us the quantity or number of a noun or
point out which it is. They maybe numerical (specifically), cardinal (how many), or ordinal (in
what order). They may also be articles or determiners (a, an and the)
Examples:
Numerical: Many foreigners were stranded in the Philippines due to the
pandemic.
Cardinal: China was firsthit by COVID ’19.
Articles or Determiners:
The Enhanced Community Quarantine was extended due to the increasing number of
covid cases.
