440 & ASCE 41 – 13 Standard.

VIII. PRELIMINARY DESIGN

Preliminary design of structure is as follows:


1. Beam
Preliminary of beam section determined by SNI 2847 – 2019 table 7.3.11 that the height
of beam section is under l/20, in this case the beam arrangement using l/12 for primary
beam and l/16 for secondary beam.
2. Slab
Preliminary of slab section determined by SNI 2847 – 2019 table 8.3.1.2 that the
minimum thickness of slab section are 125 mm, which this case the slab arrangement
using 150 mm and 125 mm for the roof
3. Column
Preliminary of column section calculated by using ETABS program, which the column
arrangement based on ETABS calculation is 500 X 500 mm.

3. HORIZONTAL IRREGULARITY
There are 5 type of horizontal irregularity that determined by SNI 1926 – 2019 Table 13,
the structure should be non-irregularity on horizontal & vertical directions since the
structure designed by nonlinear static approach method, control of horizontal

A. Torsional & Extreme Torsional Irregularity (1a & 1b)


Torsional irregularity is defined to exist where the maximum story drift, computed
including accidental torsion with Ax = 1.0, at one end of the structure transverse

ends of the structure. Torsional irregularity requirements in the reference sections

Diaphragm discontinuity irregularity is defined to exist where there is a diaphragm
with an abrupt discontinuity or variation in stiffness, including one having a cutout
or open area greater than 50% of the gross enclosed diaphragm area, or a change
in effective diaphragm stiffness of more than 50% from one story to the next. In
this case, the structure does not have opening section more than 50 %, the
structure building full of slab structure and stairs structure. This case the structure

D. Out-of-Plane Offset Irregularity (4)


Out-of-plane offset irregularity is defined to exist where there is a discontinuity in
a lateral force-resistance path, such as an out-of-plane offset of at least one of the

E. Non Parallel System Irregularity (5)


Nonparallel system irregularity is defined to exist where vertical lateral force-

3. HORIZONTAL IRREGULARITY
There are 5 type of horizontal irregularity that determined by SNI 1926 – 2019 Table 13,
the structure should be non-irregularity on horizontal & vertical directions since the
structure designed by nonlinear static approach method, control of horizontal

A. Torsional & Extreme Torsional Irregularity (1a & 1b)


Torsional irregularity is defined to exist where the maximum story drift, computed
including accidental torsion with Ax = 1.0, at one end of the structure transverse
to an axis is more than 1,2 & 1,6 times the average of the story drifts at the two
ends of the structure. Torsional irregularity requirements in the reference sections
apply only to structures in which the diaphragms are rigid or semi rigid. Horizontal

in effective diaphragm stiffness of more than 50% from one story to the next. In
this case, the structure does not have opening section more than 50 %, the

D. Out-of-Plane Offset Irregularity (4)


Out-of-plane offset irregularity is defined to exist where there is a discontinuity in
a lateral force-resistance path, such as an out-of-plane offset of at least one of the

E. Non Parallel System Irregularity (5)


Nonparallel system irregularity is defined to exist where vertical lateral force-
