I. OBJECTIVES

purposeful listening and viewing strategies; difference between literal and
figurative language; ways to extract and condense information based on
library sources; verbal and non-verbal cues in oral communication; and
types of phrases, clauses, and sentences.
B. Performance The learner transfers learning by: resolving conflicts presented in literary
Standards selections; using tools and mechanisms in locating library resources;
extracting information and noting details from texts to write a précis,
summary, or paraphrase; distinguishing between and using literal and
figurative language and verbal and non-verbal cues; use phrases, clauses,
and sentences meaningfully and appropriately.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Introduction
The learners will be exposed to the walkthrough of the lesson expectations

The teacher will flash a listening material, the learners will be asked to raise
their hand (via google meet) if they experience to listen with the given
materials
Learning Task 2
The learners will be asked to examine and identify whether a top-
down or bottom-up listening strategy is being shown or applied in
each scenario. This will be done via google form
When listening based on purpose, familiarity with the topic and levels of
difficulty, one may employ strategies which can be classified by the way the
listener processes the input. Experts categorize these strategies as either
top-down or bottom-up listening strategies.
The learners will be ask to make a Venn Diagram and show the similarities
and differences of listening strategies discussed.
