INTRODUCTION

MARKETING

“The process of ascertaining consumer needs, converting them into a product or service&

then moving the product or service to the final consumer or user to satisfy such needs& wants

of specific customer segment or segments with emphasis on profitability, ensuring the optimum

use of resources available to the organization.”

“Marketing is so basic that it can’t be considered a separate function. It is the whole

business seems from the point of view of its final results that is from the customer’s point of

view Business success is not determined by the producer but by the customer”.

According to me marketing means, push the product to the market & pull the customer

towards the business. We can say that the main aim of the marketer is to convert the want of

the customer to the need of the customer. “Thus marketing job is to convert societal needs into

profitable opportunities. Hence, Marketing occupies an important position in the organization

of a business unit. It is one of the important line activities of business operation. It consists of

the ownership of goods. Goods are not complete products until they are in the hands of the

customer. It is the process by which products are made available to the ultimate consumers

from their point of origin. It consists of all those activities, which are meant to ensure the flow

of goods & services from the producer to the consumer. Therefore, marketing thinking must

start with a crystallization of needs of consumer segment of which the efforts will ultimately

be aimed. In terms of needs, the product or service must be developed or improved so that

ultimately the product satisfies such needs of the consumer segment involved.

MARKETING MIX
Marketing mix is a by-product of customer oriented marketing approach. After

identifying the market & gathering the basic information about it, the next step in the direction

of market programming is to decide upon the instruments & the strategy for meeting the needs

of the customers & challenges of rival sellers.

According to W.J. Stanton, “Marketing mix is a combination of four elements such as

product, pricing structure, distribution system & promotional activities used to satisfy the needs

of an organization’s target market & at the same time achieves its marketing objectives. Every

business enterprise has to determine its marketing-mix for the satisfaction of the needs of the

customers. Marketing mix represents a blending of decision in four areas product, pricing,

promotion & physical distribution. These elements are inter-related, because decision in one

area usually affects action in the others.

Marketing mix is marketing manager’s instrument for the attainment of marketing goals.

It is composed of four ingredients, i.e., (i) product (ii) price (iii) promotional activities (iv)

distribution. These elements constitute the core of marketing system of a firm. A marketing

manager implements his strategies & policies through these instruments.

ORGANIC FERTILIZERS

Organic fertilizers are fertilizers that are naturally produced and contain carbon

fertilizers and material that can be added to soil or plants, in order to produce nutrients and

sustain growth. Typical organic fertilizers include mineral source all animal waste including

meat processing manure, slurry, and guano plant based fertilizer such as compost and bio

solids. There are also other a biotic non –chemical fertilizer method that meet the principle of

organic agriculture which determines whether a fertilizer can be used for commercial organic

agriculture. Processed organic fertilizer includes compost humid acid, grains meal, amino acid
and seaweed extract. The nutrient content of organic fertilizer varies greatly among source

materials, and readily biodegradable materials make better nutrient sources. nitrogen and

phosphorus content is lower, often substantially lower, in organic fertilizer compared to

chemical fertilizer nutrient value of animal manures is more variable than that of agricultural

by product. The organic carbon content of organic fertilizer can be equal or greater important

than its nitrogen and phosphorus content. Application of organic fertilizer to ponds depends on

the fertilizer former and moisture content.

Organic farming which is a holistic production management system that promotes and

enhance agroecosystem health, including biodiversity, biological cycle and soil biodiversity

activity is hence very important.

OBJECTIVE
Objectives of Study-

• To understand the survey of prices of organic fertilizer in India.

• To understand the promotion of organic fertilizer in Indian market.

• To understand that which type of organic martial is used to produce organic fertilizers.

• To understand from where raw material comes and how the it is stored.

The main objective of this study is to review how the present marketing mix applies

particularly to the marketing. This project includes the study of 7p’s and analysis of the organic

fertilizers to make the study of Marketing mix more compulsive and for getting a better idea

of how marketing mix of companies are like.

IMPORTANCE
Importance of Study

• This study will help to know the importance of promotion for organic fertilizers in the

point of view of healthy growing crops which are organic.

• This study helps us to understand the importance of using organic fertilizers against

chemical fertilizers.

• It is also important to use the organic waste created in different sectors such as sugar

mills in a manner of utilizing the nutrients present in it, which is covered while making

these organic fertilizers.

Importance of organic fertilizers

Organic fertilizers were different from chemical fertilizers in that the materials were a

by- product of vegetables, animals or minerals. The decomposing matter from these sources,

break down naturally and would provide nutrient and minerals to the soil. When considering

lawn maintenance, it was necessary to make sure that the lawn or garden gets the all of nutrients

that it needed for health growth. Although nutrients were available in regular soil, fertilizers

can provide and ensure that the plant had a balance and suitable access of nutrients, proper

lawn care include providing for the health of the lawn and garden. One of the benefits of organic

fertilizer was that the nutrients were related more slowly than chemical fertilizers. This slower

process allows the plant to process the fertilizer in a more natural way and will not result in

over fertilizing which could damage the plant. The soil drainage and air circulation of the soil

can also be improved. Having a compost pile was also a great way to get rid of food waste and

still contribute to your lawn care and environment. It was an important valuable option that
would help the soil and environmental be health and produce the best plants. Synthetic

fertilizers usually contain chemicals which were not easily biodegradable. These chemicals

leach into the soil and eventually find their way into the water system where they were

consumed by birds and other wildlife. In contrast, organic fertilizer had no such harmful

compounds and therefore didn’t pose this danger, even with increased use. In addition, when

synthetic fertilizers were sprayed on plants and lawns, they pose an immediate danger to kids

and pets that play in the garden and on the grass. Caution must be exercised when using these

toxins, and exposure must be limited. Unlike chemical fertilizers, organic fertilizers reduce

acidity in the soil and do not cause leaching. They do not kill beneficial microorganisms in the

soil. Organic fertilizers also help improve the structure of the soil including the circulation of

air, which sustains beneficial microorganisms that help release nutrients to the soil.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY

Scope of Marketing

Marketing is a huge field but still, when we try to go into the depth we understand the scope of

marketing is very large. Following are scope for marketing which helps an organization to

focus on their growth & profit.

1.Product design

Product design is the four most important elements in marketing the communication needs &

problems of the consumer have to be considered before marketing a new product design.

2. Implementation of product

Once the decision is finalized about the design of the product more focus should be there on

communication with the production department regarding the implementation of product

features.

3. Pricing of Product

Pricing is the most important aspect of the product because it only decides the major buying

decision of the consumer. So if the product is very new to the market correct & affordable

pricing should be done.

4. Distribution channel
Distribution channel means the number of intermediator like whole-sellers, Retailers,

distributors, Agent who all are involved in the marketing channel.

5. Selling of Product

Selling involves the actual challenge of marketing. The selling of products and services

involves different strategies like distribution through stores,

salesmen, Advertisements, Exhibitions, trade fairs, etc.

6. Selection Of Layout

The layout is the place where actually the product /services will be availed so more focus should

be done on the exact location and layout.

7. Publicity of the product

Publicity means communication about the product and services for creating awareness &

demand for the product by publicity& Advertisement.

REVIEW OF LITERATURE
The literature review was done by reading the ancient method of farming where there were

no chemical fertilizers and knowing the nutrients different crops needed to grow. There were

lots of experiments done in laboratory to get the expected results.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Fertilizers affect plant growth fundamentally and are essential to feed the world

population. Yet, fertilizer use also causes eutrophication and greenhouse gas emissions.

Overuse will aggravate these side effects, but underuse leads to agroecosystem’s degradation,

poverty and hunger.

1. PRIMARY DATA:

One of the major elements of handling a company is data collection and primary data

is the most basic in all the data collected.

The data primary data collected for the marketing of the product developed in the

company available source of marketing. Secondly the data collected was resisting network

between dealers and distributes it was also important to know the group of farmers prating the

organic farming to initialize the primary production. The basic objective of the report is to

define, segment, and project the global market size on the basis of source, crop type, form, and

region. The other objective of the report is to understand the structure of the market by

identifying various segments.

The report also helps in analysing the opportunities in the market for stakeholders,

providing a competitive landscape, and projecting the size of the market and its submarkets in

terms of value

2. SECONDARY DATA:

The source of colleting secondary data was books at the major side. The programs

we conducted become the source of data regarding people’s point of view.

The visit for the group of farmers gave the data of present practice of organic

farming. Demonstration on the plots of crops gave the data for effects of organic

fertilizers and the generated end products.

SAMPLING

Below is the list for different organic fertilizer produced in the company

1. Bio vermin organic blend compost

2. Phosphate rich organic manure (prom)

3. Azotobacter

4. Rhizobium

5. Acetobacter

6. Azospirillum

7. Zinc soluble bacteria

8. Mycorrhizal bio fertilizers

9. Potash solubilizing bacteria

10. Potash mobilizing bacteria

Following are the details of few organic fertilizers

A. BIO VERMIN ORGANIC BLEND COMPOST:

Bio vermin organic blend compost is the mixture of vermicomposting and

other needful bacteria’s, in the addition to it azotobacter, potash solubilizing

bacteria, acetobacter, tricoderma is used. Similarly, with the requirement and

farmers need the other additional bacteria’s area added.

ADVANTAGES:

Organic blend compost is used for different crops, flowering trees, fruit trees, poly

house trees, trees planted in small pots, green house trees, etc. it increases the growth

and number and quality of fruits and flowers it also increases in the soil quality and

helps for long term effect it takes care of nitrogen level, potassium level and phosphate

level in soil which are important for healthy growth of different plants /trees.

B. ACENTOBACTER:

Acentobacter bacteria is majorly used for sugarcane and sugar included

farming .it stabilizes the nitrogen level and increases the growth. It also stabilizes

the nitrogen level in air surrounding the crops.

ADVANTAGES:

It increases the length, width and sugar in sugar cane crops. IT increases the

production rate by 7 to 10 % and sugar content by 0.5 to 1% .

C. ZINC SOLUBLE BACTERIA

Zinc Is the major element which prevents crops from bad bacteria. The

zinc used under chemical fertilizers sticks to the soil and remains for the long term

which will affect in a bad way unlike when used with organic fertilizers.
