 GRAMMAR FOCUS: SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE
We use the present simple to talk about things in general. We are not only
thinking about now. We use it to say that something happens all the time or repeatedly or
that something is true in general. It is not important whether the action is happening at the
time of speaking.

The following text is for questions 7 to 10!
When she was young, my aunt Afnia always wanted to be a policeman, but when she
was 18, she decided to be a dentist because dentists get more money. To be a dentist,
she had to study hard for five years at university and take a lot of exams.
In her job my aunt has to clean and fix people’s teeth, and sometimes she has to
pull them out! She doesn’t have to get up early but she has to work hard, usually from
10 am to 7.30 pm from Monday to Saturday.
She likes her job because she never has to take her work, and she meets lots of
