INTRODUCTION
From many centuries back until the present time, teacher, pupil, and instruction
were the constant entities of education. In the many years, however, techniques, style,
and educational instruments and technologies develop for better delivery of the lesson
and learning of content. This chapter will help you to understand the transition from the
past years to the present century of teaching and learning.

According to Partnership for 21st Century Skills Organization, the following are 21st
century skills:
1. Learning and Innovation Skills: Communication and collaboration, critical thinking
and problem solving, creativity and innovation.
2. Life and Career Skills: Leadership and responsibility, productivity and
accountability, social and cross-cultural skills, initiative and self-direction, flexibility
and adaptability.
3. Information, Media, and Technology Skills: Media literacy; information literacy;
information and communication technology (ICT) literacy.

The P21 has suggested six (6) key elements for fostering 21st century learning.
1. Emphasize core subject.
