Safety and general Information

Introduction
This chapter is included about general information on radiation safety ,warning when using the
product, customer responsibility and maintenance.

Radiation Safety
[EcoView9] does not comply with laws and regulations when using radiation, the risk to both
operator or the patient must!

Thus, All users must know how potential hazards can be avoided and must also know how
they can protect. The most effective ways for safety from radiation is shielded radiation room
by lead etc. And the most effective safety measures against scattered 1st and 2nd from
radiation is taking the lead dividers, leaded gloves, lead aprons , coats, protective thyroid
collar. And must to use above protect counter measures.

If the body is exposed to radiation could cause bodily injury, and especially scattered the 1st
and 2nd radiation is even more dangerous, so must be careful to avoid exposure to radiation.
Patients should avoid excessive exposure to radiation and adjusting the area by controlling of
Collimator in order to minimize exposed size.

Also, After power on, the operation of X-ray switch of console or hand switch to be caused
of occurring radiation. Therefore, must be careful not to cause unintended radiation due to
carelessness or unintended operation.

Maximum permissible Dose (MPD)

For occupational exposure, the ICRP (International commission on radiological protection)
recommends that the MPD accumulated.
Shall not exceed of the following limits:
■ For an annual eye lens dose: 150 mSv or less.
■ For all other parts of the annual dose: 500 mSv or less.
(Example: Bone Marrow, Chest, Lungs, Gonad and the arms and legs, etc.)

Monitoring of personnel
The operator must do not use it with over exposure condition and must monitored
continuously of operator’s exposed.
The most effective method is the using the radiation leakage meter determine whether or not
existence the MPD.
These measurements shall be taken at all locations where the operator or any portion of his
body may be exposed. Exposure must never exceed the accepted tolerable dose of ICRP.

Electrical safety
This product user required to following instructions in order to prevent an electric shock,
malfunction and for securing safety precautions and remove electric shock.

Generator Calibration 3

3.1 Overview
This chapter explains how to use calibration software.

3.2 Introduction
3.2.1 The calibration software is operated by PC.

3.2.2 This software has function of saving X-ray exposure value, changing data such as kv, mA.

3.2.3 This software was designed by experience data of manufacturer and this tool will be operated by

specified program supplied by manufacturer.

3.3 Tool and tester for calibration

Following tools and testers are needed in generally and another tools and testers must be prepared if
needed.
■ Calibration program (CD)

■ General tester and tools

■ Digital voltage meter

■ kVp meter

■ mA meter

■ Time meter

■ Radiation Dose meter

■ Al Filter set for half-value layer test

■ another tester for calibration

3.4 Check point before calibration

■ Input voltage
■ Ground condition

(Rev. 2.1) 111110 64

EcoView9 Installation, Operation & Service Manual

■ Prepare calibration tools and tester set

■ X-ray tube model (technical data) and external equipment

3.5 Calibration time

■ After installation
After installation, this x-ray system must be inspected by radiation inspection office even though this x-ray

system was calibrated at the factory before delivery. And must be calibrated when needs calibration.

■ During periodic inspection

This x-ray system must be inspected by radiation inspection office per every 3 years. And must be calibrated

when needs calibration.

■ After changing main spare part

If main parts are repaired or replaced, x-ray system must be inspected by radiation inspection office. And

must be calibrated when needs calibration.

■ After reinstallation
If re-install or install it another place then x-ray system must be inspected by radiation inspection office. And

must be calibrated when needs calibration.

3.6 Main parts that may affect calibration data

You need calibration again if you change the following main parts.

■ X-Ray Tube

■ ECO-XR5-MiO Board

■ ECO-XR5-CnD Board

■ ECO-XR5-FnD Board

■ High Voltage Transformer

■ High Voltage cable
