1.0 In terms of NTPC Allotment of Residential Accommodation Rules, the accommodation of the
entitled type as per the grade is allotted to the employees in the order of seniority-cum-choice.
However, in case of transfers, generally the residential accommodation is allotted to the transfer-
in employees only after joining the new place of posting.
2.0 In this Covid scenario and in general also, many of the employees on transfer prefer to move
with their families as well as baggage at one go for joining on transfer in order to avoid multiple
travel and also for ease & convenience.
3.0 In order to help the under-transfer employees for restricting their movement to the least possible
from their existing place of posting to new place of posting in the current Covid scenario and also
in general for enhanced ease & convenience and further in order to reap the true benefits of the
Online Quarter Allotment System (NIKETAN), the following modification has been decided in
NTPC Allotment of residential accommodation rules:
3.1 The under-transfer employees shall also be given the option of allotment of residential
accommodation at their new place of posting in advance, i.e., before their actual/physical
joining of new place of posting.
3.2 The interested employees may make the request in this regard to the new place of posting
for advance allotment of residential accommodation after intimating the new place of
posting about their tentative date of release / joining. The above option of advance
allotment of residential accommodation shall be given to such employees whose tentative
date of release / joining is within 01 month from the date of making such request.
