The key takeaways are that the document discusses the introduction to concrete work for construction technology students. It outlines the learning outcomes, content, standards and references for the course.

The main components of concrete are aggregate, cement, water and sometimes additives. The aggregate is typically sand and gravel or crushed rocks. Cement acts as the binding agent when mixed with water.

The main steps involved in concrete mixing are identifying the required materials, preparing the tools and equipment, measuring the correct proportions of aggregate, cement and water, mixing them together thoroughly and testing the mixed concrete sample.

COURSE OUTCOME:

The person who is competent in this CU shall be to produce top grade, high quality concrete work to ensure the structural integrity is intact
according to the approved construction drawing specification. Upon this competency unit, trainees will be able to:
 Identify residential building concrete works requirement
 Perform concrete mixing

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Introduction of concrete work is a composite construction material made primarily with aggregate, cement, and water. There are many
formulations of concrete, which provide varied properties, and concrete is the most-used man-made product in the world. Concrete is widely
used for making architectural structures. The person who is competent in residential building concrete Work shall be able to identify residential
building concrete works requirement, perform concrete mixing, perform concrete pouring work, control concreted curing process and coordinate
concrete work inspection. The outcome for this competency is to produce top grade, high quality concrete work to ensure the structural integrity
is intact according to the approved construction drawing specification
