    OBJECTIVE :
    To establish a procedure for testing of fire alarm system in Tractebel Engineering Pvt. Ltd.
    POLICY:
    a) The procedure should be simple, clear, safe and easy to follow.
    b) It should enable continuous training of all the concerned persons.

    RESPONSIBILITY :
    FIRE MAINTENANCE STAFF.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    At least 2 persons, 1 stationed in BMS room and another to conduct the test on the floors.
    The testing should be done every week as per the PPM schedule.

    PROCEDURE :

     Activate any detector on a pre designated floor using an Incense Stick.


     Confirm that the correct address of the activated detector is displayed on the LCD Or on LEDs
    of the fire panel.
     Confirm the address (Zone, loop, detector no.) with the list (hard copy) pasted in the BMS room.
     Confirm that the hooters of the concerned floor are activated instantly.
     The person stationed in the BMS room after confirming the correct address shall accept the
    alarm by pressing ACCEPT button on the fire Panel.
     Silence the hooters by pressing SILENCE SOUNDERS/Acknowledge on the fire panel.
     Clean the detector and fit it back. Repeat this exercise for at least 3 locations on each floor.
     Also include the detectors above the false ceiling and use random sampling method.
     Break the glass of MCP on the designated floor and confirm the address is correct and matches
    with the indication on the fire panel.
     Confirm that the hooters are activated on the concerned floor.
     Accept the call and silence the hooters as stated above on the fire panel.
     Replace the broken glass.
     Repeat the above procedure on each floor as scheduled.
     Operate the PA system as per the SOP and make the announcement on all towers.
     Confirm the sound quality on each tower.
     Check the 2 way communication system as per the SOP.

    REVISION GUIDE:
    Any change in the system needs review of sop.
