INTEGRATED BASIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

SY 2020-2021
Grade and Grade 2 Subject Mathematics

Inclusive May 12-13, Teacher: Ms. Nicole M. Vertudez
Dates 2022
Time: 8:00 – 8:50 Grading Period 4th Grading

I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, learners are expected to:

a. estimate and measure length;
b. create and be able to use a ruler to measure
objects;
c. learn importance of measuring length and apply
in real-life situations.
A. Content Standards The learner …
demonstrates understanding of time and nonstandard
units of length, mass and capacity.
B. Performance The learner …
Standards
is able to apply knowledge of time and non-standard
measures of length, mass, and capacity in mathematical
problems and real-life situations
C. Most Essential compares objects using comparative words: short,
Learning shorter, shortest; long, longer, longest; heavy, heavier,
Competencies (If heaviest; light, lighter, lightest. (M1MEIVc-19)
available, write the

IV. PROCEDURES (Indicate which parts of the procedures will be delivered
synchronously or asynchronously)
A. Introduction Reviewing the students by asking these questions:
1. What is the lesson yesterday?
2. Can you now read an analog clock?

Motivation: Are you familiar with these objects?

Tape measure- a long, thin piece of plastic, cloth, or

metal that is marked with units of length (such as inches
or centimeters) and that is used for measuring things.

Meterstick- a measuring stick one meter long that is

marked off in centimeters and usually millimeters.

Foot rule- a stick one foot long for measuring length or

distance

Length means how long something is. We see many

things around us. Some are short in length such as
paper clip, pencil, pen, notebook etc., some are long in
length such as tree, electric pole, cloth, room, train track
and some are very long such as distance between two
places.
You can estimate length, height and distance using
appropriate units.
5. Which unit of length is more appropriate to use when
measuring the length of a bed, millimeter or meter?

C. Engagement
Engagement
Direction: Convert the following centimeters to meters.
1. 300 cm =
2. 800 cm =
3. 400 cm =
4. 600 cm =
5. 900 cm=

Assessment
Choose the correct answer.
1. Which could be the measure of the height of a table?
A. 1m
B. 5m
C. 10m
2. Estimate the length of your pencil. Which could be its
measure?
A. about 2cm
B. about 20cm
C. about 200cm
3. The perimeter of a rectangular lot is 36 m. What is its
perimeter in centimeters?
A. 360 cm
B. 3,600 cm
C. 36,000 cm
4. Mang Ambo wants to build a wire mesh fence around
his rectangular lot. If the lot measures 15 m long and 8
m wide, how long should the wire mesh be?
A. 23 m
B. 46 m
C. 120 m
5. What is the perimeter of the square below?
A. 25 millimeters
B. 50 millimeters
C. 100 millimeters
D. Assimilation The teacher and the student will check their activities
and discuss on how it is done. Then the teacher will also
discuss about its importance and valuing.
