Description

This training camp is designed to be a safe and fun place for children ages 5-7 years of age to learn
strategies for coping with fear, stress, and anxiety through a holistic approach.

Expectations and Goals

• Participants will learn how to identify their feelings and how to express them through
journaling and mindfulness exercises.

• They will learn how a healthy diet and exercise can reduce feelings of imbalance.

• Lastly, they will learn how essential oils and herbs can help to relax them.

Course Schedule

July 8 Street Level Activities


Welcome 5 minutes Short greeting to participants and an overview of events.
Ice Breaker 15 minutes Superpowers. (“Get to know you” game)
Journaling 20 minutes Journaling with pictures. Create a “Superhero Me” journal.
Bathroom Break 10 minutes
Mindfulness 15 minutes Intro to mindfulness. 5 senses (Tull, 2022). “What’s in the
Snack 20 minutes bag?” game (Kinder, 2019).
Goodbye 5 minutes Intro: Foods affect our emotions. Make a healthy snack.
Quick summary of the day and a show of gratitude.
July 15 City Level Activities
Welcome 5 minutes Short greeting to participants and an overview of events.
Ice Breaker 15 minutes What makes me special and give a compliment game.
Journaling 20 minutes Journaling through pictures. What makes us feel (…).
Bathroom Break 10 minutes
Mindfulness 15 minutes “Breathing buddy” (Kinder, 2019).
Snack 20 minutes Make a healthy snack. Cinnamon for destressing.
Goodbye 5 minutes Quick summary of the day and a show of gratitude.
July 22 Cosmic Level Activities
Welcome 5 minutes Short greeting to participants and an overview of events.
Ice Breaker 15 minutes Worries in a hat game.
Journaling 15 minutes Video (Flocabulary, n.d). Journaling: What to do when I feel
worried.
Bathroom Break 10 minutes
Mindfulness 15 minutes 10-minute body scan (Stahl, 2019). Reflection.
Aroma Therapy 10 minutes Make Brave Spray using essential oils.
Snack 20 minutes Make a healthy snack.
Goodbye 5 minutes Quick summary of the day and a show of gratitude.
