Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of La Paz, Leyte held its second meeting on December 13, 2021. [1] The meeting discussed preparations for an approaching tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility that could affect the municipality from December 15-17. 1. Meeting Procedure

1.1 Open: The meeting commenced at 9:00 am.

Proceedings:

1. The Honorable Angel A. Sia, Jr. Municipal Mayor, Chairman MDRRMC give his opening
message and immediately call Mr. Soriano Armenio III, Operations Section Chief for the
Disaster Preparedness Presentation.
2. Mr. Soriano Armenio III discuss the latest weather forecast issued by PAGASA regarding
the tropical depression outside Philippine Area of Responsibility that may affect the
municipality this coming December 15-17, 2021. He further discusses the probability of
the weather disturbance to make landfall over Maasin, Southern Leyte on or before
December 16, 2021. Disaster Preparedness measures such as convening of the
MDRRMC, dissemination of weather advisory to all barangays, activation of Operations
Center 24/7 for monitoring, response team on standby, prepositioning of assets and
stockpiling of relief goods will be undertaken.
3. Proposed Resolution: On motion of Mr. Marlon Eslopor and duly Seconded by Mr.
Froilan R. Pundavela to the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council
to convene and advised to take appropriate actions for this weather disturbance and
maintain close coordination with MDRRM Office.
4. It was found out that the Contingency Plan must be updated and incorporate COVID
response Plan for New Normal situation.
5. Other Matters: Office order will be drafted for all LGU employees for this weather
disturbance
6. Adjournment: There being no matter to be discussed, the Honorable Chairman
adjourned the session at exactly 9:45 am.
