Program Overview :
Leap Scholarship is an initiative by Leap Scholar to
encourage and support students who want to pursue higher
education abroad. The scholarship provides an opportunity
to Indian students to grow both personally and professionally
and accelerate their careers in a global environment.

The total amount of scholarship for the year 2021 is

$250,000 USD. The scholarship is available for 5000+
courses in Canada, UK, USA, Australia, Ireland and
can cover upto 100% of your tuition fee. This makes it
the biggest scholarship in India for students going for
higher education abroad.

About the Scholarship:

The Leap Scholarship was established by Leap Scholar in 2019 to promote educational opportunities for
Indian students going abroad.

The number of students going overseas is increasing every year. In July 2018, 7.5 lakh Indian students
went abroad for further studies as reported by the Ministry of External Affairs. Even so access to global
education can often be restricted to a select few. Due to lack of information, absence of strong networks
or financial reasons, not all Indian students are able to realize their dream of studying abroad.

This is why we established the Leap Scholarship - one of the biggest scholarships for Indian students
wanting to pursue higher education abroad. The scholarship is given every year to students going to the
UK, the US, Canada, Australia or Ireland to pursue postgraduate studies.

From the founders

Leap Scholar was born out of the conviction that Indian students
have the talent and potential to thrive in international careers.
Education is the greatest equaliser, and every student deserves
access to the best possible opportunities regardless of their
background or location.

Leap Scholar is a one-stop guidance & mentorship platform for

any Indian student aspiring to study abroad. By joining Leap
Scholar, students are able to receive academic counselling from
the best counsellors in India, prepare for IELTS, receive
scholarships, get student visa guidance with a 99% approval rate
and 1:1 mentorship from successful students abroad all under one
roof.

Realising that financial constraints hold back many hard-working Indian students who want to move
abroad, we launched the Leap Scholarship. We believe that every student has the potential to make a
difference and deserves the best opportunities for growth. Leap scholarship is open to all students who are
planning to pursue a postgraduate degree from a university or college in the UK, the US, Canada, Australia
or Ireland in any subject of their choice.

Through the scholarship, we want to enable Indian students to grow their skill set, receive world class
education and give back to society by pursuing rewarding careers and growing the presence of Indian
talent abroad.

Vaibhav is passionate about democratizing education for Indian students. He

has helped over 1000 students achieve their study abroad dream over the
past 5 years through counselling and guidance. Vaibhav is also an expert in
the higher education loans space and wants to make the dream of studying
abroad a real possibility for as many students as possible.

Arnav Kumar
Co-Founder, Leap Scholar

Arnav is a graduate of IIT kharagpur and started his career at Deutsche Bank.
He loves to guide young aspirants to build successful careers in global
environments. Through Leap Scholar, he not only wishes to provide the right
guidance but also the right opportunities for growth and development of each
student. So far he has helped 500+ students in their study abroad dreams.

How does joining Leap Scholar work for you?
Leap now tends to take a step further in its process to encourage and support students who want to
pursue higher education abroad and extends the scholarship opportunity to students who already have an
admit from a University.

You will become eligible for Leap scholarship - If awarded you could get upto 100%

of your tuition fees as a scholarship plus a grant of 500 dollars

Complimentary access to our services - Guidance from an expert counsellor, Visa

filing and assistance with financial services.

Scholarship process with us:

Step 1: The Onboarding

You will need to register with Leap Scholar and need to submit the below mentioned
documents as a part of the onboarding process:

● A copy of your offer letter.

● Passport
● Form

Step 2: Submit Scholarship Application Online

You can submit your scholarship application online any time after onboarding. As part of your
application, you will upload the following documents:

3.1. An offer from a university/college in the UK, the US, Canada, Australia or Ireland

3.2. A personal statement that answers the following questions: In 500 words or less,
what are
a you career goals/aspirations?

In 300 words or less, how will an education abroad help you in achieving your

In 300 words or less, what additional qualities/skills do you have that make you

an ideal candidate for this scholarship?

 Step 3: Interview with Scholarship Committee

After your application is verified and evaluated, shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by an
independent scholarship committee.

Step 4: Results of the Scholarship

Results of Leap Scholarship will be declared shortly after the interview. For the September
intake, we would announce the scholarship between 15-30th August.

Amount of Scholarship Cover:

The scholarship will cover a part or the entire cost of your tuition and will be directly disbursed to your
college.

2 Upto 100% of first year tuition fee whichever is lower.

Evaluation Criteria - What Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for young dreamers who want to receive higher
education abroad. Every student deserves the best education and
opportunities to grow in her chosen profession and make an impact
on society.

Leap Scholarship is for all students who are passionate about their
chosen fields of study, want to grow their skills and accelerate their
careers in a global environment.

We look at a number of factors as well as the personal goals of

each student while evaluating their application. Here are some of
the factors we look at while awarding the scholarship:

1 Academic consistency

2 Financial need

3 Program of study and related work experience / academic profile

4 Work experience / Internships

5 Extra-curricular achievements and interests

6 Motivation to pursue International education in the chosen field

7 Social impact initiatives and community involvement

8 Research work

Please note that these are not exclusionary factors but a general guideline to review an applicant. Absence
of one or more of these factors does not hamper your chances of scholarship.

The purpose of the scholarship is to be able to help the maximum number of students. If you meet the
basic eligibility criteria, we strongly encourage you to apply. There is no application fee for the scholarship.

The Leap Scholar Community

Students who are awarded the Leap Scholarship get to be
part of an exciting and ever-growing network of Indian
students abroad. The Leap Scholar community is young,
passionate and driven. It is a home away from home for all
Indian students going overseas. It allows you to easily
connect with each other, develop friendships, search for
accommodation and flatmates, find student-mentors and
professionals who can help in finding jobs.

We highly value the power of student networks and allow student-mentors to grow and shape the
community. The scholarship provides you life-long connections with fellow Leap Scholars.

FAQs
I have a very small grant from my university, so is that going to be a problem concerning
1 my eligibility for a leap scholarship?

No, you are still eligible for the Leap Scholarship. The grant provided by the university has
nothing to do with you receiving a Leap Scholarship.

2 What happens to the $500 grant if I don't receive the scholarship?

If you have been awarded the grant, you will get the $500 grant irrespective of you receiving the
scholarship.

What other services will be provided by Leap?

3 Guidance from an expert counsellor, assigned Student Mentor, Visa filing and counselling.

Since, I already have an admit and did not apply through Leap Scholar at the time of
4 application, am I still eligible for Leap Scholarship?

Yes, you are still eligible for the Leap Scholarship, just follow the steps mentioned in the section
“Scholarship process with us” to apply for the scholarship.
