Introduction

very special relationship of trust and commitment with the people of India. The Company's
activities in India have facilitated direct and indirect employment and provides livelihood to
about one million people including farmers, suppliers of packaging materials, services and
other goods.
The Company continuously focuses its efforts to better understand the changing
lifestyles of India and anticipate consumer needs in order to provide Taste, Nutrition, Health
and Wellness through its product offerings. The culture of innovation and renovation within
the Company and access to the NESTLÉ Group's proprietary technology/Brands expertise and
the extensive centralized Research and Development facilities gives it a distinct advantage in
these efforts. It helps the Company to create value that can be sustained over the long term by
offering consumers a wide variety of high quality, safe food products at affordable prices.
NESTLÉ India manufactures products of truly international quality under internationally
famous brand names such as NESCAFÉ, MAGGI, MILKYBAR, KIT KAT, BAR-ONE,
MILKMAID and NESTEA and in recent years the Company has also introduced products of
daily consumption and use such as NESTLÉ Milk, NESTLÉ SLIM Milk, NESTLÉ Dahi and
NESTLÉ Jeera Raita.
NESTLÉ India is a responsible organisation and facilitates initiatives that help to
improve the quality of life in the communities where it operates.

Objectives and Learning outcomes


Objectives:

 To make understand the students regarding the manufacturing of food


processing and packaging industry.
 To understand that theoretical knowledge is not enough for a successful
professional career. With an aim to go beyond academics industrial
visit provides students a practical perspective of the work place.

Learning Outcomes:
 This industrial visit helped the students to gain hands-on experience of how
food processing industry operations are executed.

 Hence this Industry visit bridges the gap between theoretical training and
practical learning in a real-life environment.

How the visit is executed


The industrial visit was planned earlier with the prior permission taken by the
department HOD from the college. Later on we contacted the Admin HR Ms. Devica
Devaiah at Nestle India Ltd, Nanjangud Industrial Area, Mysuru. Considering their
rules and regulation based on the company insights, we got a confirmation for visiting
the plant on 11th January, 2020.
They also had mentioned clearly regarding the number of students per batch
and it was decided to in two batches. First batch was planned with A-Section MBA
students at 10.00am and the second batch was of B-Section MBA students at 2.00 PM
on the same day.
The students were taken via bus with two batches and the HR and operational
team took care of the students in their organization by briefing them with the process
knowledge and also had a conversation regarding the doubts that the students were
having in their opinion minds.
Also the valuable inputs regarding the processing of the food and also how the
hygiene is maintained in the plant, what are their CSR activities conducted by the
company and at last they explained regarding the effluent treatment done to take care
of the water released by the company can further be used to cultivate the agricultural
lands, which really helped the students to understand these all process in actual.
Lastly I thank our beloved HOD Dr. P. Nagesh sir permitting the students to
visit industry. Also thank Dr. Anupam Sundar, Prof. Yuvarajnath and Prof. Kavyashree
for accompany along with the students for this industry visit.
