NB. All complex scaffolds must be designed prior to
erection and followed by operatives.
Competent scaffolders to carry out the work activity.
Scaffold inspections to be carried out:
As per OSHAD CoP 26.0 Scaffolding (i.e. before first
use, every 7 days, following alteration, or following any
conditions that may have affected the safety of the
scaffold (e.g. high winds, undermined scaffold,
collision, etc)
By competent person.
Scaffold tie anchorage:
Scaffold will be tied to the structure sufficiently as per
objects design drawing, OSHAD CoP 26.0 Scaffolding and
manufacturer’s guidelines.
Tie anchorage erected/ dismantled progressively with
the scaffold with warning signage to prevent
inadvertent removal.
Sample tie proof tests as to be conducted (5%/ min.
3No ties).
Client to ensure:
Scaffold is used in accordance with the loading
specified on the hand-over certificate/scaffold tag;
material storage on scaffold is evenly distributed and
kept to a minimum to prevent overloading
Scaffold is segregated from plant/ vehicle movements
Scaffold ground or base conditions are suitable for
imposed loads
No unauthorized modifications to be made to the

1.1. Planning
a) Construction and HSE team must ensure that hazard identification is complete.
b) Construction and HSE team must prioritize the hazard issues, which are of significant in nature. (It means that risks
have well established legal requirements, potentially high risks).
c) Construction and HSE team to prepare the risk assessment plan for the priorities identified hazards for these
potential high risks.
