2 CARGO SHIP SAFETY EQUIPMENT

2.1 GENERAL
2.1.1 CARRIAGE OF ADDITIONAL PERSONNEL. (MN 2-011-5 2/05)
When this is accepted by the flag Short Term certificates to be

issued normally with a maximum validity of 2 months. At the
same time the full term certificate to be withdrawn. (Ref 24-
MHL-J-97)

2.3 Lifesaving appliances
1. Liferafts shall be service by approved service facilities,

apporved in accordance with IMO Res A761(18)and Resolution
MSC.55(66. Marine Notice 2-011-5 Rev 1/06

2.4.1 FIRE CONTROL PLAN
Technical Circular 6 2004-04-30
For ships with keel laid after 2004-01-01 the fire control plan
shall comply with IMO Res A.952(23).
For ships with keel laid before that date all Fire Control
Plans shall comply with IMO Res A.654(16).
For existing plans not in compliance with IMO Res A.654(14)the

revised version should comply with IMO Res A.952(23).
For ships not in compliance CA with validity 3 months to be

issued.

means of escape from the space (the other means being an enclosed escape trunk or a
watertight door at the lower level of the space)
Min 2 sets at each level
Min 2 EEBD's, per level in engine room
SPARE
1 for cargo ships 2 for passenger ships
MAINTENANCE
Checked annually by competent crew
Hydrotested every 5th year
