Brand Overview

Established in 2013 by Kim Tuyen, TheBlueTshirt was first a local


online fashion brand. After years of development, the brand
currently owns two stores in District 1 and District 3 of Saigon.
The brand mainly focuses on basic and essential product lines as well
as high-quality materials. However, they sometimes offer up to trend
collections. As the brand follows the image of a modern, friendly,
functional and well thought out Vietnamese label, they never let
down their target customers - Vietnamese gen Z by generating
projects associated with community benefits and environmental
consciousness (TheBlueTshirt n.d). One of TheBlueTshirt most well-
known campaigns was the Indigo Tees made by H'mong people living
in Sapa, mentioned in the last assignment.

Based on the WGSN report, the demand for essential wear would continue in the Spring-Summer of 2022 (S/S 22). The lead items
are forecasted to be matching sets, coloured suits, comfort blazers, simple statement shirts, A-line Flexi dresses, A-line mini skirts,
white jeans, wide leg pants and work-leisure pants (Maggioni 2021).
Colour
According to WGSN's trend forecast, yellow shades will continue to be one of the Spring/Summer 2022 key colours (Baidoo 2021).
As yellow is the colour of the apricot flower, the signature of Tet holiday, this shade also represents wealth, fortune, and a positive
vibe. Besides, yellow has been popular over the past three years and recently emerging in the womenswear market. It is forecast
to go viral and apply to a wide product range such as loungewear, casual wear, essential wear, day dresses or suits (Clark 2020).
Detail
Pattern play, a kind of fabric manipulation by draping, twisting, and knotting, becomes an investment norm. This technique works
as an aggrandizer for simple pieces like shirts and dresses that create intricate details with the least effort. Since pleated and is one
of the common textures, prominently seen in luxury brands from Chinese S/S 21 and Shanghai A/W 21/22 catwalks, it is expected
to be S/S 22 new fabric texture trend. These two are best when applying to light and airy fabric (Cheung 2021)
Fabric
Since silk currently made its appearance in many luxury womenswear brands' runway, it is forecasted to become the S/S 22 trend
textile. As TheBlueTshirt tends to focus on eco-friendly materials, silk is known as one of the most sustainable fabrics. Besides, for
work-leisure items, Ecological Textiles organic cotton, linen, and hemp blends are predicted to be key (Skliarova 2021).

Currently, Saigon Centre is one of the most advanced
commercial centres for young people in Saigon, which
integrates modern and updated activities according to the
current youth trend. Their atrium is considered the heart of
the shopping mall. Not only is it the main space for social
activities with people gather, but it is also right in front of the
main entrance and is easy to notice. This area is usually rent
to showcase new products and services to attract customers
(Le, V 2018).
