NSTP 1: National Service Training Program

PRACTICE TASK 1

Government 1. Under Article II, Section 4 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, this is the source of military
authority.

Artemio Ricarte 2. The “elected”Captain General in the Tejeros Convention.

University of the Philippines 3. The first military education was conducted in this school.

1912 4. The most accepted date when the ROTC was started.

Citizen Advancement Training (CAT) 5. This is the counterpart of the ROTC in high school.

Manuel L. Quezon 6. He signed on December 23, 1935 the law that “…designed the Philippine Army as a citizen
army.”

General Douglas McArthur 7. He drafted the law that designed the Philippine army as a citizen army.

Presidential Decree No. 1706 8. The decree during the presidency of Ferdinand E. Marcos that made national service obligatory
to all Filipino Citizens.

Republic Act No. 7077 9. This is otherwise known as Citizens Armed Forces Reservist Law.

Personal Military Service 10. The primary duty of the Filipino citizens enunciated under Article II, section 4 of the 1987
Philippine Constitution.

Civil Service 11. Aside from personal military service, the Filipino citizens may also be called upon by the
State to render this service.

December 19, 2001 13. The date when House Bill No. 3593 and senate Bill No. 1824 were consolidated.

ENUMERATION
Enumerate some of the topics in every component of the NSTP:

a. ROTC

i. Military Orientation;

ii. Individual Protective Measures (hygiene and sanitation, basic life support, and basic self defense);

iii. Basic Weapons Training and Marksmanship;

b. LTS

i. Training students to become teachers of reading-writing literacy and numeracy to children, out-of-school youth and
other segments;

ii. Teaching underprivileged segments of society which did not get formal education;

iii. Realizing ideas through volunteerism to help build, educate, inspire and empower others in the community;

c. CWTS

i. Enhances the civic consciousness of students by developing value of service and commitment for the welfare and
betterment of life of all members of the community;

ii. Aims to strengthen the students active participation in the program and activities intended to uplift the different
dimensions of community development;

iii. Intensive community exposure for thorough implementation of community plans and projects which will develop the
student’s value of commitment and resourcefulness;
