    Erythema nodosum leprosum is a skin condition characterized by red, painful nodules, often affecting the lower extremities. It can be correlated to "Loota Visha" in Ayurveda. A 42-year-old male diagnosed with Erythema nodosum leprosum was treated with Loota Visha Chikitsa, including the herbal medicines Dashanga Agada and Patolakaturohinyadi Kashaya. Local application of Paranthyadi Taila was also used. The treatment was successful with no recurrence and normal skin tone was restored.

    Loota Visha Chikitsa

    ABSTRACT

    Erythema nodosum leprosum is skin disorder characterized by painful red lesions or nodules
    most oftenly affecting the lower extremities caused by the streptococcal infection,sarcoidosis,
    TB,and certain drugs.In Ayurveda it can be correlated with Loota Visha. A 42 year male which
    was diagnosed with Erythema nodosum leprosum and given the treatment for the same.It was
    treated by Loota Visha Chikitsa with Dashanga Agada and Patolakaturohinyadi Kashaya also
    for local application Paranthyadi Taila was advised and successful results were seen. There
    was no recurrence and normal skin tone was found. The case study shows that effective
    management of Erythema nodosum can be done using Ayurvedic line of management.
