1. Enumerate and Discuss the Five (5) derivative words stipulated from the preamble of the
1987 Philippines constitution.
The five derivative words are ‘Build’, ‘Establish’, ‘Secure’, ‘Promote’, and
‘Conserve’. “To BUILD a just and humane society”. The word ‘Build’, as what the preamble
is implying is about the people, having to work on a foundation of great and humane society,
for everyone —for every citizen ought to live. Upon building this humane society is
establishing a government that caters the need of its people. “Establish a government that
shall embody our ideals and aspirations...”. And the establishment of the said government, as
per embodying the ideals of its people is securing their bountiful posterity and independence,
and hence the promotion of goodness among them. To promote security, the Constitution
ought to define it, the preamble is implicitly defining the constitutional context. Thus, to
‘Conserve’ the patrimony of above mentioned, and not to patronize thereof.
2. What is self-awareness?
Self-awareness is defined as having conscious knowledge about one’s own feelings,

personality, motives, desires, etc. This implies knowing and understanding them, which is
generally achieved through introspection. Obviously, understanding oneself offers the person
more control over his or her own life, but it may also bring acceptance of certain
predispositions or character traits, which may bring harmony and self-acceptance.
Importantly, self-awareness can be cultivated, making it an exciting topic for students to
explore.
Moreover, most people believe that they have a good sense of self-awareness, but it
would be best to check at a comparative scale to see where you fall on it in contrast with
others. Self-awareness crates a chance for everyone to make necessary changes in his/her
behaviors and beliefs.
3. Reflect yourself the different classification of Good Citizenship Values Based on the 1987
Philippine Constitution
Spirituality plays a vital role in my personal life. First of all, spirituality helps me
govern what is right and what is wrong in my life. Many of the decisions that I make every
day, I believe are a direct result of my spirituality. For as long as I can remember I have been
raised to believe that I should live my life the way God would want me to live it. Therefore,
whenever I have a decision to make, I have to consider, what is right? And what is wrong?
Second of all, it also helps me to feel more secure about what will happen to my spirit once
my life here on earth is over. I believe that there is a better place for our spirits once we leave
this earth.
Pagkakamaka- Tao taught me how to love that will help me to show care on other
people and my family. Love has been a vital reason we do most things in our life. Before we
could know ourselves, we got showered by it from our close relatives like mothers, fathers,
siblings, etc. Thus love is a unique gift for shaping us and our life. Therefore, we can say that
love is a basic need of life. It plays a vital role in our life, society, and relation. It gives us
energy and motivation in a difficult time. Finally, we can say that it is greater than any other
thing in life.
Pagkamaka-Kalikasan makes me realized that nature is the most beautiful and

attractive surrounding around us which make us happy and provide us natural environment to
live healthy. Our nature provides us variety of beautiful flowers, attractive birds, animals,
green plants, blue sky, land, running rivers, sea, forests, air, mountains, valleys, hills and
many more things. Our God has created a beautiful nature for the healthy living of us. All the
things we use for our living are the assets of nature which we should not spoil and damage.
We should not destroy the originality of the nature and should not imbalance the
ecosystem cycle. Our nature provides us beautiful environment to live and enjoy so it is our
responsibility to keep it clean and away from all the damages. In the modern era, many
selfish and bad activities of the human being have disturbed the nature to a great extent. But
we all should try to maintain our nature’s beauty.
4. Explain the importance of human rights to every Filipino Citizen.
Human rights reflect the minimum standards necessary for people to live with dignity.
Human rights give people the freedom to choose how they live, how they express themselves,
and what kind of government they want to support, among many other things. Human rights
also guarantee people the means necessary to satisfy their basic needs, such as food, housing,
and education, so they can take full advantage of all opportunities. Finally, by guaranteeing
life, liberty, equality, and security, human rights protect Filipino against abuse by those who
are more powerful.
5. List down the seven intermediate values related to socialization and defines each
a. Pakikisama is the mechanism used to maintain SIR, the use of the go-between, and
euphemism.
b. Reciprocity or Utang na Loob which is another aspect of SIR is a universal form of
behavior.
c. Looseness and Security in the Family. A much vaunted trait in the Filipino society is the
so-called close family ties or family solidarity.
d. Respect for elders. A value inculcated early in the socialization process.
e. Personalism. In personalism, major importance is attached to the personal factor, which

ensures intimacy, warmth and friendship in getting things done. Hospitality. Foreigner who
come to our country often remark about Filipino hospitality. This is shown in our generosity
and kindness in treating our visitors.
f. Patient Suffering or Pagtitiis. It is shown in the attitude that certain frustrating forces
whether poverty, injustice, sickness, or anything else are too powerful to be overcome.
g. Panindigan. With the emphasis on Filipino indigenousness, Enriquez (1977:3) initiated a
new way of looking at Filipino values, which truly represent the Filipino culture.
Commitment and conviction approximate it.
6. Write the factors that affect value formation and the types of experiences that influence
value formation.
The following factors affect one’s value formation:

a. Influences – these depend on a person’s internal influences such as intellectual and
emotional capabilities
b. Experience Factor – like good influences, good experiences are needed in value formation
There are four (4) types of experiences that will influence or affect the formation of values.
1. Liturgical experience
2. Bible Experience
3. Learning Experience
4. Human Experience
