Unscrew the hexagon head bolt (B) with the spring and take
off the plate (C).
Unscrew the hexagon head bolt (D) on the bearing plate
and then fold it over.

casing and press the outer taper roller
bearing (15) onto the crown wheel shaft;
push the back-up disc (18), O-ring (19), inner
ring (20) and second back-up disc (18) onto
the shaft and tighten the slotted nut (22)
(permissible axial play of the taper roller
bearings is 0 - 0.1 mm).
11. Fix the pre-assembled gearbox cover onto
the gearbox casing (1) by means of the two
hexagon head bolts (23).
12. Measure and adjust the torsional flank
clearance.
Fit a bearing set collar (35D) (503 414.1) on
the bevel gear shaft by means of an M10 x
20 hex. head bolt (237 382.0) and apply a
dial gauge.
ATTENTION! The measuring point must lie
on the reference diameter of the bevel gear.
The torsional flank clearance should be
0.15 - 0.25 mm.
13. Measure the torsional flank clearance and
determine the number shims and their
thickness (17).
14. Then take off the gearbox cover again,
remove the crown wheel and drive the
bearing outer ring of the inner taper roller
bearing out of the cover.
15. Place the determined number of shims of the
same thickness (17) in the bearing seat in
the gearbox cover (16) and press the
bearing outer ring back into the seat.

shaft (17) and check it for easy movement. Pull out the

shift lever (A) and secure it with a pin. Press the shift
