EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

School improvement is a continuous process that every school must strive on.
Considering that all educational institutions, particularly public schools faces a wide
variety of challenges, school leaders must learn to find a systematic way in coping up
with these challenges. It should be the greatest desire of every school to improve, so
that learning outcomes will also improve. Thus, guided by the Basic Education Act of
2001 (RA 9155) the school head of Bulala High School spearhead the development of
the School Improvement Plan.

In developing the SIP, BHS conducted various activities such as forming the
School Planning Team, data gathering, using the School Community Data Template,
Child Mapping tool, School Report Card, Child Friendly School survey and Child
Protection Implementation Checklist. Adhering to the key features and principles in
developing the SIP, the SPT members collaboratively identified the PIA’s which was
followed by the creation of time table. Several discussions about the status of the
school were made which led to the formulation of the general objectives of the three-
year plan project. From these, different project teams were organized to work on the
PIA’s. Consecutive sessions with the SPG, GPTA, Teacher’s Association, and
Barangay Council were conducted to allow them to present their findings in their
assigned area. Each project constructed a flow chart relevant to their area of focus.
Each team conducted a root cause analysis that helped them uncover the real cause
of the problem. As an output each team come up with root cause analysis diagram
which served as their baseline in accomplishing the Planning Worksheet and
formulating solutions for the root cause. As a result, they developed a project design
using the Project Work plan and Budget Matrix which was submitted to the SPT.
Given data were consolidated and used in preparing the SIP and AIP.
