1. Installation sequence: Fix membrane neatly to provide a complete barrier to water, snow and wind
blown dust. Install from lowest level upwards so that horizontal overlaps shed water away from
substrate. Report occurrence of damage to membrane and repair before installing cladding
2. Bottom edges: Extend membrane 25 mm (minimum) below lowest frame member in supporting
wall.
3. Continuity
3.1. Criteria: No breaks. Minimize number of joints. Bond with tape where required.
3.2. Horizontal laps: 100 mm minimum. Achieve full bond.
3.3. Vertical laps: 150 mm minimum and staggered with respect to horizontal laps. Achieve full
bond.
3.4. Penetrations and abutments: Attach to breather membrane with tape. Achieve full bond.
3.5. Openings: Overlap flashings at head and extend membrane into reveals.
3.6. Junctions at flashings, sills, gutters, etc.: Overlap and allow free drainage to exterior.

4.1. Reinforcement: Use reinforcing tape to strengthen membrane at fixing points and to identify
stud locations.
4.2. Fastener centres (maximum): 150 mm centres at frame or stud positions and around
openings, at top and bottom of panels and at membrane joints.
5. Dpcs: Trim all projections flush with face of wall to avoid snagging breather membrane.
6. Repairs: Fix lapped patch of breather membrane material with continuous band of tape on edges.
Report occurrence and complete repairs before installing external cladding.
