Date: 22-10-09 Description: Motor Blood Pump Gear
Intended Use
This Instructions Sheet describes the procedure to replace the Motor Blood
Pump Gear.

Setup Instructions
1) Put on your gloves.
2) Switch off the machine.
3) Unplug the Power Cord from the power supply.
4) Go to the back side of the machine and unscrew (counter clockwise)
the 2 screws that hold the top cover in place (Fig.1a).

5) Pull upwards the top cover and lay it on the machine upper edges.
6) Go to the front side of the machine and, by using the hexagonal
wrench, unlock (counter clockwise) the locking nut located on the
right door (Fig.1b). Then open the left door.

7) Disconnect (if present and connected) the connector J32 from the
Mother board and remove the top cover (Fig.1c).

8) Completely open the left door until the latch is positioned in place, as
shown in Fig.1d.

10) Completely open the right door until the latch is positioned in place as
shown in Fig.1f.

12) Remove the Blood Pump Rotor by pulling it out, as shown by the red
arrow in Fig.2b.

13) From the internal side of the left door, locate Motor Blood Pump Gear
(Fig.3a) and disconnect the BP connector from the BP Hall Sensor
board (Fig.3b).

14) From the internal side of the left door, locate Motor Blood Pump Gear
(Fig.3a) and disconnect the Ground Wire from Motor Blood Pump
Gear (Fig.3c).

15) Fig.4a shows the Blood Pump board with BPRL. Fig.4b shows the
Blood Pump board without BPRL.
Note
If the Blood Pump board is not provided with the BPRL connector
(Fig.4b) proceed to step 23.

16) If the machine is equipped with BPRL, locate the Blood Pump board
(Fig.5a) and disconnect the J4 flat cable from the Blood Pump board,
as shown in Fig.5b.

20) By using a flat screwdriver dismount the orange wire of the BPRLY
connector from the pin position 2 (Fig.6b) and place the quoted
orange wire into the pin position 12 of the AP connector (Fig.6c).

22) Discard the old BPRL connector with free orange wire.
Note
To avoid wire disconnection verifies that pins are firmly locked on the
AP connector.
23) If the machine is not equipped with BPRL, locate the Blood Pump
board (Fig.7a) and disconnect the J4 flat cable from the Blood Pump
board, as shown in Fig.7b.

24) If the machine is not equipped with BPRL, locate the Blood Pump
board (Fig.7a) and disconnect the AP connector from the Blood
Pump board, as shown in Fig.7c.

25) Unscrew the four screws that fix the Motor Blood Pump Gear bracket
to the left door (Fig.8a and Fig.8b). Then remove the old Motor Blood
Pump Gear.

26) Install the Motor Blood Pump Gear performing the procedure
described on steps 25, 24, 23 and from step 14 to 2 in reverse order.
Performing the final check.
Note
The screws have to be screwed in the sequence order 1-2-3-4, as
shown in the red circles in Fig.8a and Fig.8b.
Final check
1) Verify that the Blood Pump T1 Test is performed correctly by starting
a preparation phase. For details refer to the chapter “7.4 T1 Test” in
the Service Manual and to chapter “5.B - Test Procedures” in the
Operator’s Manual.
2) As soon as the Blood Pump T1 Test has been carried out, interrupt
the preparation phase and return to the idle view.
