1. Basic Electronics and Digital Electronic Circuits Lab

Facilities:

• Basic Electronics Lab focuses on the skills of designing, developing, and testing wide
range of electronic circuits using test and measuring instruments like cathode ray
oscilloscopes, function generators, digital multimeters etc.
• In this lab, the students will be able to carry out the experiments and analyze the
electronic circuits such as rectifiers, diodes, amplifiers.
• Digital Electronic Circuits Lab will enable the undergraduate students to learn the basic
concepts and techniques in digital electronic circuits.
• The learning objective of this laboratory is to supplement the theory course of digital
electronic circuits with adequate introduction to both combinatorial and sequential logic
circuits, such as, adders, subtractors, comparator, multiplexer/DE multiplexer,
encoders/decoders, 7-segment display and decoder/driver, flip-flop, register, counter, etc.
and various combinations of these.
• Basic Laboratory Instruments: Basic Laboratory Instruments: Oscilloscope,
Function Generator, Digital Millimeter, DC Power Supply and Digital trainer Kits for
First Year EC and Second Year EC students.
2. Digital System Design and Digital Signal Processing Lab

Facilities:

• In Digital System Lab students are exposed to VHDL and Verilog Programming.
• In Digital Signal Lab, students focus on implementing different signal processing
algorithms using matlab software’s on computers as well as DSP boards.
• The lab has MATLAB software installed and trains the students in using this powerful
computer application in various aspects of engineering.
• Basic Laboratory Instruments: Computers equipped with Matlab, Xilinx software,
DSP boards.
3. Communication Lab

• Communication laboratory focuses on training the students in both Digital and analog
communication.
• This laboratory provides hands-on practical training in the diversified fields of Analog &
Digital Modulation Techniques.
• The students are trained for constructing the Circuits of different communication
techniques like Filters, Attenuators.

4. Microcontroller, Microprocessor, VLSI Lab

Facilities:

• The Microprocessor and Microcontroller Lab aims in inculcating the knowledge of


programming skills by executing various programs like arithmetic operations, code
conversions, searching and sorting algorithms studied in the Microprocessor and
Microcontroller course.
• The lab is also used by the students to interface the microprocessor and microcontroller to
various peripheral devices to generate waveforms, perform A/D and D/A conversions,
Keyboard and Display Interface, Stepper motor Interface, DC Motor Speed Control.
• Basic Laboratory Instruments: Computers equipped with software’s keil , MASM
,Flip, and 8086 µP and 8051µC trainer Kit, DAC and ADC Interface Kit, Stepper Motor
and DC Motor, Matrix keyboard and seven segment display interface kit.
• VLSI Lab aims at introduce architecture and design concepts underlying modern
complex VLSIs and system-on-chips.

5. Analog Electronic Circuits and Linear Integrated Circuits Lab

Facilities:

• This lab has state-of-the-art electronic equipment like Digital Storage Oscilloscopes,
Large Bandwidth Signal Generators, high quality consumables and workbenches,
measuring instruments and components.
• Facilities in this lab are used for conducting experiments in the subjects Basic
Electronics Lab, Analog Electronics Lab, Op-amps and Linear ICs Lab, as prescribed in
the curriculum of B.E Degree Program in E&CE.
• The main objective of this lab course is to gain the practical hands on experience by
exposing the students to various linear IC applications.
• The lab also introduces to the students 555 timer and IC 741 and its applications, various
voltage regulators.
• It is also used for student project works.
• This lab is useful for students to design and analyze working of integrated circuits.
• Basic Laboratory Instruments: CROs signal generators, regulated power supplies,
Millimeters and accessories. Breadboards, soldering facilities, other Measuring
Instruments. Power Supply unit and Electronic Components.
6. Power Electronics Lab

Facilities:

• The laboratory is equipped with modules such as SCR, IGBT, UJT, MOSFET etc
• The laboratory course provides instruction in general lab practices, measurement methods
and with the design and operation of several common circuits relevant to the field of
power electronics.
• It also provides experience the common components such as motors, batteries, magnetic
devices, and power semiconductors.
• It is also used for student project works.
• Basic Laboratory Instruments: Equipment to conduct basic experiments on electrical
and electronic measurements like calibration of energy meters, testing of C.T.s,
A.C./D.C. bridges, etc. Power electronic trainer kits, digital storage oscilloscopes,
isolation transformers. CROs, signal generators, regulated power supplies, Digital
Millimeters. Breadboards, soldering facilities, CRO probes and other accessories, Power
Supply.
7. Networking and Simulation Lab

Facilities:

• This laboratory houses high end computer systems, all the systems are installed with
networking lab software.
• The students will be able to build packets and analyze the functions of each layer of OSI
Model.
• They will detail learn about different types of protocols.
• It is used for student project works.
• Second Year students make use of this laboratory to simulate electronics Circuit to
understand their behavior.
• Basic Laboratory Instruments: Systems Equipped with Software-Cisco Packet Tracer
and Tina Software.
8. Automotive Electronics Lab

Facilities:

• This lab will be utilized by automotive electronics and Industrial electronics students for
their Final projects.
• The lab is also used for Research and Development activities in the field of control
systems.

Board, Sensors and Motors, Personal Computers.
8. e-Yantra Lab

Facilities:

SJCE Robotics Lab established with support from TEQIP and e-Yantra is an advanced
laboratory to execute state of the art projects. e-Yantra is a project initiated at IIT Bombay and
sponsored by Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India. Under this
project, with additional support from TEQIP-2, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering of
JSSSTU has set up this Robotics laboratory with advanced robotic kits and equipment’s with a
cost of Rs 25 Lakhs, where students design and execute projects throughout the year.

e-Yantra, IIT Bombay organizes mainly two types of competitions every year: (a)e-Yantra
Robotics Competition (eYRC) (b) e-Yantra Ideas Competition (eYIC).
